Battleday - Demo album cover

BATTLEDAY are a cross culture mixture of a band who have come together from Italy, Spain and Germany. The band members met in November 2017 & came together to create BATTLEDAY. The band in their early days would meet in an air raid shelter to play cover songs. They played everything from DIO to JUDAS PRIEST and from PANTERA to MOTLEY CRUE. Soon after they began creating their own unseen compositions. They have a heavy sound that is dark and intense, giving us a sense of what's to come in the future. They have birthed a band that is fast and aggressive with a powerful and clear vocal talent fronting some fine guitaring, bass and drum playing. BATTLEDAY have played a few gigs around Germany and the Netherlands, and after this, they produced a 3 track demo. This may pave the way for an EP or a debut album to come in the future as they certainly have the skills and musical talent to create good music and with some touring experience under their belts, they are getting familiar with the gig scene. At the moment BATTLEDAY do not have a record label and are currently looking for someone to represent them as their record company. They would make a fine catch for the right representative.

So to summarise the demos 3 songs, we will go in chronological order. Song number 1 is called "Die Another Day." It opens the demo with heavy riffs and smashing drums and Andrea's powerful vocals come in and break the unknown band into the known world. This song is fast paced and gives us a taste of what the band are capable of. There is an awesome instrumental section in the song which shows off the skills of the guitarists in the band. Song number 2 is called "No Grace" and is 4 minutes 33 seconds of power and order coming together. Instruction and advice come through in a sharp way in this song. Again it's hard not to be impressed by the way this band of Europeans have come together to create sweet music as we listen to this song. Song number 3 on the demo is named after the band and is called "Battleday." It's a fine demonstration of the bands loud and full on approach. "Stay and fight" lyrics to stand by in any battle, be it for personal freedom or to save a friend. Words to live by. And sadly that's all we have on the demo, but we can stay tuned & discover what comes next from the band as they move forward.

In my opinion, the demo is a good effort by BATTLEDAY to show what they can do. It is a good demo which gives a small teaser of what we can expect in the future. I would hope to see the band progress and make an EP or a debut album in the next year or two and I think they have made a good start at a long term career in Metal music. I will be keeping an eye our for BATTLEDAY in the future to see what the next works they create is like as they are a band who I could easilt tune into. The music is well composed and the vocals are strong and bold. It will be interesting to see what comes next. Perhaps the days of singing cover songs in an air raid shelter are over but the band will always have the fond memories of "that's where it all started" in years to come as they grow in fans and reach a larger audience. With time, exposure and dedication, I think they stand a good chance of becoming a well recognised band in the future.
