In times like those that we are living, the limitation to have a band and to record albums is worthless. In many times, the musicians of one man bands prefer this way to stay away from great problems. That's because, sometimes, these guys really have no intention of touring or to expose themselves to things that being on a band brings. And in some cases, this formula works pretty well, as in the case of AVULSION RUPTURE, from England, that now comes with "Áglæccræft", the band's first full length.

Here, the old cauldron of Metal boiled and mixed influences of Death and Black Metal with some melodic and atmospheric influences, being morbid and darkened, but introspective as well. Good riffs, shrieked vocals, strong and heavy rhythmic kitchen, all in their due places, just putting a great amount of personality. Besides this musical way is not as new as some can think, AVULSION RUPTURE does not clone others, but try to do things in the way Paul Bobrucki (the band mentor and only member) thinks it fits best for his ideas.

The sound quality is really nasty. It reminds a lot the same quality from older albums from SWOBM. Of course it could be way better than that, but it is not a big problem to Black Metal addicted fans.

But be prepared: some depressive melodic insights appears a lot, so it enrich the band's work greatly, as we can hear on songs like "Fortress of Desolation" (with good aggressive moments mixed with melodic and depressive ones), "Gibbet on the Moor" (another one with good tempo changes), the harsh and bitter "Coils of Pain", and the aggressive "Concocting Hallucinations" (with some not so fast tempos, along with some deeper and atmospheric moments).

A good work, but the band's potential is about to emerge.<
