The art of discovering a new band! What a pleasure it is to be listening to a demo and think damn, these guys will become huge one day. Well I think it is only a matter of time before Artillery Hell get a good record deal and unleash their hatred upon the world (explanation: I mean release an album, hahaha).
Started under the Dreadnaught moniker by Robert Anderson and Mike Began in 2000, as a cover band, Artillery Hell released two demos, had some name changes (they were also known as Silo for a certain time period) and several lineup changes and finally decided to release their third demo attempt. It's important to mention that this demo is by far more professionally crafted than their previous works, and in this helped their collaboration with Dino Alden (Zero Hour, Mordred among many others).
The band's style is a mixture of Death, Thrash and some Black Metal touches (mostly in the vocal lines). All three songs included in this demo can be considered as grinding compositions with stunning guitar work. Robert Anderson plays with his voice changing it from low growls to high pitched screams. The first song brings in mind the Domination period of Morbid Angel (I generally believe that Morbid Angel has been a big inspiration for this band). This is the song that I like the most but the other two are also really good ones.
I won't say much about the Production it is of professional standards, making this three-tracked demo sound like a fragment of a full length album. All in all this demo shows a band ready to take a big step forward. If their first official release contains material in the same quality, I'm sure it will make lots of people notice them.
