Hey I have met these guys in the past once before! Yeah I had the chance to listen their previous single Sleep With One Eye Open back in 2002 and it was really cool (quite bombastic I have to say). So what's up with those Finnish dudes?
Their brand new work titled Winds Of Fire is actually the third one. Apart Sleep With One Eye Open they have also released in 2000 another CD titled In Control (don't mix this one up with the all time Teutonic classic by Heaven's Gate). Their biography is full of live shows plus the guys seemed to spend lot of time working on their own studio. Not bad...
Winds Of Fire is pretty much in the same vein as the band's previous works. Classic / melodic metal with groovy guitars, pumping rhythm section, distinct vocals and catchy refrains. Production wise this mini CD delivers good / warm sound quite related with productions from the 80's. It's often obvious that these dudes would have preferred to be part of the 80's Swedish school (since I can't recall many acts from their country of that specific era).
Winds Of Fire might not be a revelation in the fields of heavy metal but is definitely a good work by an experienced that has a lot to offer.
