Accursed Spawn - The Virulent Host album cover

Hailing from the frost bitten country of Canada comes ACCURSED SPAWN and their first full length album "The Virulent Host". The nine track album is full of gut busting Death Metal vocals sung by Luke Wargasm and an ear splitting barrage of intense guitar work from Paul Kelly and Adam Pell. The drumming from Jay Cross will make your brain boil inside of your skull and the bass played by Weiyun Lu will make your teeth explode. This Death Metal album will be one that you will be blasting for some time to come.

The first track "Bhopal '84" is very intense and had me jumping around while trying to write this review. This is Death Metal at it's finest and I am pumped to hear the whole thing. The second track "Bloodforged" is a force to reckoned with. This song has absolutely everything and is missing nothing. If you are a fan of CANNIBAL CORPSE you will absolutely love this! "Interrogated Bludgeonment" is like if you decided to hot rail PCP and go have fun at the slaughterhouse. I couldn't get enough of this song it's just pure fucking death! Luckily it's the second longest song they have blessed us with!

"The Virulent Host" had a slight hint of Thrash in it at the beginning but quickly went right to Death. This song should've been call the black hole because its the heaviest thing ever. This song is absolutely brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed it. "Cesium 137" which is the longest song on the album, is a beast of a song. Naming this song after a radioactive isotope was a really smart move because I felt my insides melting through this entire song. This song alone made this band one of my newest favorites.

"The Ageless Curse" is an absolute banger. I would say this is in the top three off the best songs on the album so far. There is something very catchy about this song. It's like CANNIBAL CORPSE and AMON AMARTH had a love child and spawned this unforgiving child called ACCURSED SPAWN. "Shotgun Facelift" gave me exactly that. I was picking my brain matter off the ceiling for a good hour after listening to this song. I would say they should give a warning about how heavy this song would be, but they kinda did with the title.

"Mass Glossectomy" seems like a never ending barrage of missile strikes on my ears. This one is brutal as fuck and I loved every second of it. The final song on the album is "Dogmatic Affliction" which is also the third longest on the album. This song from start to finish is a blast. It's laid out perfectly and really shows off the talents of the band. I think this album as a whole is one of the heaviest I have heard in 2019. I am very grateful that I was able to hear this amazing album and I think that all of you will be just as appreciative of it.
