UK metallers STUKA SQUADRON posted the following news update:

"Cainites, warriors of the Subterranean Reich, masters of the Underworld and stupid humans - dread news!
Italian riffmeister Count Axis has been forced to leave to THE SQUADRON due to his unanticipated demise after unexpectedly being submerged in an avalanche of bedroom slippers after opening his locker in STUKA SQUADRON headquarters. Famed for his Metal interests such as garden centers, espresso machines and a gentle potter round the park on a Saturday night, Count Axis - despite being himself the lead guitar player in one of the world's foremost Heavy Metal acts STUKA SQUADRON was unable to rid himself of the completely correct conviction that Heavy Metal shows are in reality secret satanic masses. As one of our esteemed Italian allies Axis also preferred espresso to a nice drink of blood, and is known to have forced such feared revenants as Gravedigger Cox to remove his SQUADRON jackboots in favour of bedroom slippers so as not to soften the rough finish of the black granite flagstones in his lair in The Black Tower, West London.
Axis leaves his mark with THE SQUADRON with some guitar work on the solo sections of "On The Volga Bridge" from forthcoming album "Tales Of The Ost. As such he has etched his mark onto the Metal world for all eternity.

Rumors that he has fallen into the dreaded fiery pit, home of such tools as Zabulon, Doktor Cardboard and Alessandro Explosion cannot be confirmed at this time. Count Axis' departure leaves the remaining member of STUKA SQUADRON in their usual predicament - a turnover in vampires so rapid that they are currently installing a revolving door to the fiery pit. If YOU happen to be a vampire who flew stukas in World War II. If YOU play mean lead guitar and crave a career as the cutting edge of THE METAL WAR contact THE SQUADRON on the Myspace or Facebook!.

The remaining members of THE SQUADRON intend to complete the album prior to the next round of shows, which should include a European tour. The album should be complete in October / November 2010 and will be accompanied by a video."
