British Columbia based Blackened Death Metal act, Apollyon, are set to release their debut album, "False Light", on November 2nd, 2018. "False Light" was produced by Matt Roach (Wormwitch, Explain, The Hallowed Catharsis) at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, BC and features guest vocals and guitar solos by members of Angelmaker.

A follow-up to their 2017 EP, "Immolation", Apollyon tread new ground on "False Light", exploring a more dynamic, black metal-based sound, as opposed to their more straight-forward death metal roots. With influences including Dissection, Exhumed, Isis and Wolves in the Throne Room, the quintet have crafted an album that is equal parts dynamic, aggressive and melodic. Apollyon will celebrate the release of False Light with an album release show at a popular local venue in Kelowna, BC, this show is anticipated to sell out.

Popular metal blogs have described the music found on False Light as "quite an interesting mixture of contemporary styles", also stating "that attention to solid song-writing trumps forced fusion(s) and hastily cobbled harsh contrasts." in reference to the way their various influences come together to create a sound that is greater than the sum of it's parts.
