The more a trend spreads its tentacles, the more the worldly scenario becomes filled with bands that aren't good or bad, but stay in a midway between both extremes. It seems that a tendency awakens countless bands that don't have a chance, because they're locked up into the genre boundaries. That's the case of the Italian trio ELEPHARMERS, and their album "Lords of Galaxia" shows the deeper meaning of these worlds.

Once more, the ears of the listeners are stormed by that blunt and dirty form of Stoner Rock/Metal that will make you remind the names of bands as SOUNDGARDEN, MONSTER MAGNET and others. They have a personality pulsing under the melodic lines of their songs, but it's hidden in a way that is barely detectable. They have talent and energy, but their songs are resting on the same space of countless others, without rising above the norm, but never falling in the middle of those that don't even deserve to be listened. They're just common, even having talent to create something with their faces.

The production did a decent work, evading those nasty and dirty sound qualities that emulate the past (a unnecessary action, because it's 2019, and not the 60's, 70's or whatever some guys think). The instrumental tunes bear organic and simple tunes (especially on guitars), and it works. The production can be better next time, but for now, it isn't bad. "Ancient Astronauts" seems like an Industrial Rock song in the beginning, before becoming a nasty song with a dirty feeling that shapes their guitars; the fine instrumental parts of "Ziqqurat" (although it can sound a bit repetitive); some Space Rock elements (the keyboards) of "Flood"; and the lysergic experience called "Stars Like Dust" are the best songs, but they could be not as long as they are.

They're not a bad group, but ELEPHARMERS must leave the mean line between the good and the bad, and they can do it.
