Minimum Safe Distance
Charlie Munro
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CHARLIE MUNRO; signed via 667943 Records DK, hailing from England - performing Instrumental Progressive Metal, on his 7th album entitled: "Minimum Safe Distance" (released November 9th, 2018)
The soloist in question: CHARLIE MUNRO has 7 albums in his discography so far; I am introduced to the 7th album entitled: "Minimum Safe Distance", 8 tracks ranging at around 35:13; Charlie Monro on all instruments conveys on constructively distinguished developments of Instrumental Progressive Metal distinctions. The introductory titular track begins the record; demonstrating an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting distributions, harmonically composed symphonics with systematically solid vehemence with versatile ultilizations of unique skill. Each song is influenced by a film; injecting a dose of atmospheric ambience, attributing an aesthetic of boistrously bouncy flamboyancy. "Gurgantua" for instance; inspired by INTERSTELLAR, expertly fabricating instrumental imagination of said film - with suprising twists of musical remedies.
Consistently galloping with chaotic chugs of meticulous mayhem; a grandiose manifestation of relentlessly rhythmic soundscapes, sonically supplying rambuctiously progressive technicalites. "Last Shadow" (inspired by the notorious film AVATAR provides thunderously thumpy persistancy, with no vocalization - this concept forces you to use your vision... although most of the melodies remind me of the 2016 video game soundtrack of DOOM, amalgamated with a Djenty twist - heavy harmonies coverged with crunchy and deadly instrumentation. "Ava" (influenced by EX MACHINA) culminates diligently dominant complexity, dextrously blistering barrages of fluidly frenzied execution in which are creatively crafted with organic substances and rapidly swift nimbleness.
"Limbo" (inspired by the INCEPTION) demonstrates diversely dynamic variety; distributing efficiently efficacious bolts of battering haste, hammering with inventivity & a dose of profusely robust ramifications. Forging a harness of culminated characteristics, detailed finesse & a subjugated submerge of riveting results. "Crew Expendable" (inspired by the popular film ALIEN); establishes more thumpy jumps, juxtaposed with savagely primitive maliciousness - captivating enlightenments and hostile fulfillments in which embellishes on experimental grit. For an independent artist, the man concretely delivers solid slabs of stability and skill so far. "Reset The Day" (inspired by EDGE OF TOMORROW); blasting with drum cymbal beats, rampaging stampedes of riffs and solos and audibly pummelling bass contributions that excel with rip-roaring rage.
Overall concluding "Minimum Safe Distance" with the finale track: "Time To Die" (inspired by BLADE RUNNER); I enjoyed an interestingly fascinating discovery, and the bottom line consists of an impressively solitary virtuoso who certainly outdone himself here - worth listening to, and though there are no vocals which would subtly suprise me more - CHARLIE MONRO is a force to be reckoned with - good stuff lad!<
