Circulus - A Lick On The Tip Of An Envelope Yet To Be Sent album cover

An extremely psychedelic cover artwork brought the first thing to notice. The label - Rise Above - supplied the assumption. Looking at the promo CD's inner booklet picture, with these British, 18th Century villagers in the country fields, I was ready to take the trip. Hope it'll look a little bit like Blackmore's Night or Lordian Guard I thought, memorizing any possible familiar sound I could easily compare this release to. My next - and last hope - was any of the few 60's hippie bands I like... I just feel it'll be the briefest review I've written 'till today.
The album with the twelve words comes from a band lost in time. So it's the music. In NO way associated with any Heavy Metal or Hard Rock genre, let's stay typical. Nine tracks flirting mainly with flower power 60's Pop, various psychedelic/folk elements and some detection of baroque (or let's call 'em renaissance) aspect. You know the atmosphere, you are aware of the sound; everyone has at least seen such a movie or heard some classic tunes from that era. Nothing more to mention.
Of course, don't grab it with eyes firm, you devoted Rise Above maniacs.
There's no reason to rate this album. I can't even write the title. Offline: it's good, it journeys your mind if you feel hippie at times. ONLY then...
