FAITHXTRACTOR is for those that take their Death Metal seriously. Earthy vocals, vintage year (inspired by something from the early 90s), heady guitar that leaves your brain hemorrhaging from vicious headbanging. The band calls "Proverbial Lambs to The Ultimate Slaughter" "Twelve tracks of unrelenting Death Metal Darkness". Brothers Marquis and Ash Thomas started the band in 2005 as a side project to their side projects, one of which was MISFITS-inspired punk horror band VLADIMIRS. Ash in Particular has the longest rap sheet for band membership among all the others in FAITHXTRACTOR, being a part of twelve bands, half of which he is still actively playing in. Other members: Marquis Thomas, Zdenka Prado, and Cody Knarr were all culled from previous bands Ash and Marquis were members of.

"Proverbial Lambs to The Ultimate Slaughter" begins with a bang. Literally. The intro song "Culling Rites" opens with a door slamming, creepy backwards vocals and inhuman growling. It's opening horror movie tracks like this that give me a lot of faith for an album. "Death Deserving" is a bleak dust storm of a track with chords and bass weaving and whirling together until you can't audibly tell which is which. FAITHXTRACTOR certainly knows how to adhere to the old guard of Death Metal like early CANNIBLE CORPSE, DEICIDE and DEATH that showcase frayed riffs, less concern for frilly melodies and more interest put into how quick and how hard you can abuse a drumkit. While not interested in hitting the ground running, FAITHXTRACTOR is at least merciful and generous in giving you a full minute head start to get the hell out of dodge before you're nothing but a smear of blood on the dirt. "Forsworn Then Burned" is a rancorous, immolating track that burns beautifully only to vanish in an instant far too soon after a mere two-minute runtime. "Scathe of The Scythe" blazes straight through Hell and back, firing on all cylinders as the Thomas brothers scream through the mayhem. "Assailing Phantoms" assault the ears with ghostly, moaning riffs and more of Ash Thomas' unholy growling.

FAITHXTRACTOR reminds the scene what classic Death Metal should sound like on gruesome tracks like "Human Debris" and "Claws of Seraphim", Ash Thomas singing (or rather growls incomprehensibly) with his throat no doubt filled with blood, spewing it all over the microphone. "Proverbial Lambs to The Ultimate Slaughter" is a nasty, unforgiving, twelve track Hellscape.
