Step back into time with the mellow dramatic riffs and digital solos. Oskair brings a new twist to the metal world. Bringing back 70's style metal rock with his own personal dark spin, Oskari Rasanen is truly going to make a statement in the music world. Starting off with a digital type sound, something you would probably expect to hear with an old school video game, perhaps Pacman or an Atari. It's an interesting song to kick off the album. It sets a tone that already has the listener guessing what will come next.
"Message from Beyond" has a very 70's glam rock feel. Which is what writer Oskari Rasanen was aiming for. The rhythm of the guitar and snare just leave a beat that you can get into. It also has a soothing undertone that seems to make the song very calming to listen too. It's a catchy beat with the pickup of the guitars. The album itself is very well written and composed. It gets the story lines across with each song. A fantasy tale of sorcery and kingdoms. Although the album is of metal/rock genre, it's filled with a soothing, calming effect that you just can't ignore. Everyone and their friends will enjoy sitting around listening to it.
The lack of any modern feel to this EP really makes it stand out with music produced today. It has none of the digital autotune while singing, which is rare to not have with music in this age. It has a classic feel with the instruments. The lyrics are fitting to a SciFi movie, maybe even something that would be played at a rennisance fair or Live Action Role Play event. There is a good mixture of both vocals and instruments in all of the songs. "Lord Inquisitor" has a wonderful start with being able to pick out each individual sound of the guitars and drums in a very distinctive way. Coming in with the high pitched vocals to really set it apart from the other songs. It draws the album into a perfect closing tempo.
With an album like this, IRON GRIFFIN is sure to have a following. It speaks out to a large group of individuals that will be sure to fall in love with the songs and the detail to each instrument. SyFi fans will be drawn to it, while people that are fans of old school metal will enjoy the feeling of having an old vinyl record playing. IRON GRIFFIN will sure be an artist to look out for in the future.
