Metal maniacs, rejoice! I'm proud to present to you: HOLYCIDE; signed via Xtreem Music, hailing from Spanish grounds - performing Thrash Metal, on their debut album entitled "Annihilate... Then Ask!". (released on February 1^st, 2017)

Since formation in 2004; the quintet in question have a Demo "No Escape", an EP "Toxic Mutation" & this here crusher "Annihilate... Then Ask!" 10 tracks ranging at around 42:33; HOLYCIDE contribute exceedingly well to the Thrash Metal sub-genre with an elegant distinction in their efforts. Right off the earphones - "Afterwards Remnants" opens up the album with instrumental similarities to that of MUNICIPAL WASTE, and a punk-thrash incentive to that of the mighty TOXIC HOLOCAUST. Galloping riffs and ferocious pummeling give off a destructive yet exquisite sound production that flourishes with a cohesive songwriting process. The titular track showcases Dave Rotten's vocal cords in which balances between high-pitched and grungy for a more brutal element of flair; performing with adapt adroitness while having an unprecedented sense of intricacy.

"Human's Last Dawn" showcases Miguel Bárez & Salva Esteban complex yet dexterous guitar work with hastened speed and intense fretwork; both excel with proficient licks while being as original and memorable as they can possibly be. "Eager To Take Control" speaks for itself - pulverizing blasts of destruction from powerhouse Dani Fernández on bass & Jorge Utrera on drums compile more savagery, constructively building a wide array with prominent rhythmic thrash annihilation. "Motörhead" is no doubt a tribute to the great Lemmy Kilmeister; where the yelling of "motörhead"is confined in the chorus section and is a great fist pounder. "Bonebreaker" implements vehement ruination with a delicate display of epic musicianship. The ear-splitting efficiency from HOLYCIDE is undeniably filled with an organic aesthetic in their offering to the Thrash Metal community.

"Deserved To Be Erased" continues to provide a diligently enlightening production as the record grows on me with fulfilling effects to thrash like a maniac! "Losers (Detente)" shows off more shenanigans; detailing with a sufficient amount of subsistence in the making. "Leather Spikes Chains & Blood" is another mind-blowing exert and manifests with illuminant grace...the concluding track "Back And Forth" overall had me enjoying an intricately designed piece of Thrash Metal dominance that had indifferences to that of TOXIC HOLOCAUST; SKELETONWITCH & DARK ANGEL. As a Thrash Metal maniac; I can guarantee that this discovery was worth listening to and reviewing, and I hope that Thrash/Metal fans in general will check "Annihilate... Then Ask!" at least once. HOLYCIDE have earned themselves a new fan and I will keep a lookout on them in the future! Brilliant.<
