Deathraid - Submit To The Will Of Chaos album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! The Thrasher returns to give you an insight; this time, on the Italian - Death 'n' Thrash quintet known as: DEATHRAID...signed independently on their early 2001 Demo: "Submit To The Will Of Chaos".

Formation began in the late 90s - 1997 to be exact. We have here an almost unknown identified quartet; subliminal to being this proficient band, ...that honestly could have had so much potential if they only just stuck to their guns... Pronominal achievements came within this one and only demo that after many occasional listens; justified an utmost thrash-able jam. Manifested - that one can see DEATHRAID as a Black Metal band; they are more quintessential to the Death 'n' Thrash formula of Metal. Riffery of the highest ambition comes this very obscure Demo: "Submit To The Will Of Chaos" that perfectly implements the atmospherics of Black Metal among heavier attributes, compiling an abundance amount of intensified riffery that is guaranteed to melt faces, break bones and give you one helluva singular party...or group party if you're lucky enough! ...I can safely say that this could have been a band to be more proficient if only they were still active.

Piecing together as a 4-man band with dexterity comes Convulsion on vocals and bass that screams brutality with black screams and substance. Skum and Alastor on the guitars pummel their instruments with thrashing elegance; sophisticated with power and motion, fusing a progressive drive here and there...with an added enlightened powerhouse of Kinske on drums, smashing his set competently...hell-bent to make the consumer thrash like a maniac.

We are dealing with a fearsome bunch with adroitness that can only mean one thing - you're certainly going to feel the wrath of DEATHRAID with full force. "Submit To The Will Of Chaos" is a 5 track EP-Demo and makes it abundantly clear that what you'll be listening to is not for the faint of heart. While the production could be perilous, this is but a Demo of an early recording so, brace yourself for some brutally intent destruction.

"Submit To The Will Of Chaos"' 5 succulent tracks of fiendish robust compiles Black, Death 'n' Thrash mastery that allowed me to grow on in time with multiple listens; constitutes an explicate yet unprecedented listen. "Violent Penetration" is exactly as described; right off the earphones the inner depths of my ear holes is penetrated with Blackened, Death 'n' Thrash Metal. Black screams of death profound and excruciating musicianship that compels the iron horns of death to be unleashed. "Contagious (Of Terror)" exerts more extremity that expertly implements more Blackened ambience of attrition. "Lunatic Souls Domain" violently pursues more instrumental atrocities that will leave the casual music listener in absolute shock. "Asphyctic" pummels more distinguished enchantments; while the conclusion of "Reborn In Fire" executes groovy, yet an upbeat sound production of raw and solidified quality.

Maybe with this review I can somewhat resurrect DEATHRAID; compelled to say that "Submit To The Will Of Chaos" is an absolute blinder of a first attempt, I would totally be onboard with a full blown release...but one can only hope. A production of quality; memorably a killer with originality and songwriting that consistently embodies fierce reactions - surmise to say that you'd be a fool to disregard such complexity. Check it out, or be square.<
