SHOTGUN REVOLUTION is a Rock and Roll band based out of Denmark. They had previously released two full-length albums. "All this could be yours" is their third, and contains ten tracks. "Don't Stop the Grind" leads off the album, with an AC/DC inspired riff and a long scream. The guitars are at partial distortion and this definitely falls within the realm of old-school Rock and Roll, although it is not anything overly original. "Rise to Power" has a bit more get-up-and-go, from the dirty low end riff and drawn out vocals in the chorus. Still, you have the impression that this is something you have heard before. The title track, "All this could be yours," outshines the previous tracks with embracement or more melody and hooks. This is a strong song that you can sing along with, and takes me back to yesteryear when AOR ruled the airwaves.

"City of Fire" is a mid-tempo song with a dirty riff and an edgy sound. The verses are quiet but the chorus comes in full tilt. The contrast allows for the chorus to drive the song, a technique often employed in this genre. There is also a tender song on the album which is almost a given, entitled "Dissolve." I think Ditlev's vocals fit the sound on the song very well, but it doesn't have enough of a hook to draw me in. The verses promise something that the chorus just falls a bit short on. "Gods Damned Poetry" however is similar in sound but does put forth a nice chorus and some memorable moments. "Suzie" opens with a quick few voice box notes with that wah-wah effect but it is very brief. There is more of a back story in this song with the lyrics. The chorus is memorable and rescues some of the meandering in the verses.

"River of Dreams" closes the album. Acoustic guitars rear their heads in this track. It has a soft emotional sound throughout but once again fails to really reach the heights that it exposes now and then. Overall, this is riff based Rock and Roll/Hard Rock that I just found forgettable. I don't begrudge their honesty or what they have strived to create, but just didn't find enough to really champion. A couple songs stuck in my head but the rest were just too vanilla.
