The Mars Chronicles - Self-Titled album cover

From the unique image of the band, you can tell how unusual the music of THE MARS CHRONICLES would sound. It's a recently founded French project that I would label Alternative Metal, although it's obviously highly influenced by many styles. The band has just launched themselves with a self-titled EP.

Due the members' previous ventures with different bands, THE MARS CHRONICLES's sound doesn't give you the "newcomer" impression with all the great skillful musicianship they displayed. There's a nice flexibility in the vocals, experimented guitar work, and great drums.  The sound is quite difficult to classify within one genre since it ranges from Alternative / Rockish elements such as in "Constant Show" or "Redefined" to heavier and groovier tracks like "Abyss".

I would definitely recommend this EP if you are into this genre. You can also check out my interview with Devy and Morgan posted on the front page.
