AGAINST THE SOCIETY were kind enough to send me their new EP "Dignity" for a review and since it has been some time since I last reviewed a Hardcore release I was more than glad to listen to this CD.
The band hails from Volos, a city somewhere in the center of Greece, and it was formed in 2007 (I thought this band was much older, anyway). "Dignity" is the band's second EP release after "Brainless People", AGAINST THE SOCIETY's first self financed EP which was released in 2008.
The band's sound, is as I said above, pure brutal Hardcore music. If there was only one word to describe AGAINST THE SOCIETY that would probably be... moshpit! The quartet seems to have put a lot of effort in this EP release, something that proves that these guys have taken it seriously. Decent production, more than decent riffs, bestial vocals and various tempo changes that take full advantage of your neck muscles, hahaha! I would dare to say that AGAINST THE SOCIETY reminded me of raw version of THROWDOWN or something like that. The vocalist also helps the band widen its sound with the addition of his grind growls, something you get used to as time goes by.
"Dignity" is definitely not the best Hardcore release that has ever fallen into my hands, but it is surely a more than decent EP for all Hardcore lovers out there and a promise for what's to come when they release a full-length album.
