At the end of October 2017, long time Bass player, Spud, will be leaving Horrorwood Mannequins. The band wish Spud all the best for the future and thank him for the time he has been with us. Spud will play 3 final shows with The Woods, October 13 at the Chippo in Sydney, October 14 at The Basement in Canberra with his last show being at The Factory Theatre with Witchgrinder October 27 for the Aftershock Halloween Party.
These Shows will be bitter sweet because they will also be the first for our new guitar player Slayn. Slayn has previously played in bands like The Vandolls and Syndicate and has added a new layer to the already powerful HWM guitar sound. Slayn Says "I'm stoked to be part of the new Horrorwood Mannequins Line-up. I've watched these guys evolve massively over the past couple of years and I'm keen to be a part of that. The rehearsals are already sounding huge and I can't wait to get on the road with these guys, play some wicked music and party like animals!"
After the October shows, the bass duties will be handled by the amazing Scarox (Scare-ox) Martin. Scarox is an amazing musician & songwriter in her own right and has played in many different projects, most recently, schlappin the bass for Ezekiel Ox. A true professional in every sense of the word, Scarox's first show with Horrorwood Mannequins will be supporting our good friend and Superheist axeman, DW Norton when his new solo project "Rifleman" comes to the Chippo Hotel on November 24. Scarox says "I'm absolutely so excited to join Horrorwood Mannequins, I love these fellas and their killer music. I'm so stoked to be a part of it. I can't wait to unleash my inner Scarox!"
The band are also currently in the studio, recording new material for a Double A Side to be launched early 2018 ' More info on launch dates and tour dates will be provided later this year.
