FURIA: Theatre Performance Poland & Japanese Tour.
May 11, 2017
Poland's critically acclaimed band, Furia, are taking their nekrofolk music to an entirely new level. This Friday 12th May, Furia will take part in the premiere of the theatrical performance, "Wesele".
The Silesian act will be the musical accompaniment to the show taking place at Stary Teatr in Cracow, Poland, with seven performances planned so far. All shows sold out on the same day that they went on sale. Stary Teatr is one of the most acclaimed European theatre stages, and one of the oldest public stages in Poland.
"Wesele", translating to 'The Wedding', is a classical Polish drama written by playwright, painter, and poet, Stanisław Wyspiański. The story of 'The Wedding' is set after the two unsuccessful uprisings against the Partitions of Poland in November 1830 and January 1863, and captures the complexities of attitudes towards national self-determination.
