Alternative metal outfit Defences have just dropped another huge music video single for 'Let You In', taken from their debut album 'With Might And Main' which will be out on the 26th May 2017. The single proves that the band are ready to make some serious waves in the alternative metal scene, and that they are an energetic and positive force to be reckoned with.

Kyle Parke of Defences says - "With 'Let You In', we put aside some of our most stadium-rock influences in favour of returning to our metalcore roots, a sentiment reflected in the claustrophobic, disorienting and aggressive music video that accompanies it. The song itself is inspired by the difficulties that can arise when trying to let another person back into your life. This dichotomy shows itself in the contrast between the uplifting and hopeful chorus compared with the despairing and fatalist breakdown section. We also feel that it is a message that applies itself to everyday life outside of relationships, where one can find oneself feeling vulnerable when making life changes regardless of whether they are positive".

Formed in Hertfordshire in 2013, Defences draw on electronic and stadium rock influences to offer a brand of alternative metal distinct from other modern rock acts. The group offers a fresh take on the female-fronted metal genre, with frontwoman Cherry Duesbury's voice being described by Kerrang!'s Alex Baker as "deliciously androgenous". The band heavily emphasise positivity, acceptance and self-improvement in their sound.

'With Might and Main' - The album's title, a phrase meaning "with all one's strength", aptly summarises the meaning behind the collection of twelve songs as well as the band's mantra during the creation process. The album aims to promote positivity, seizing every opportunity and becoming the best possible version of one's self through its lyrics, backed up by hard-hitting and melodic instrumentals.

Cherry Duesbury (lead vocalist), says this about the upcoming album -

"This album is the product of years and years of hard work.. It was tough, and there were times I wasn't sure if it would ever be finished, but we did it, and I am so proud of the end result. We spent a lot of time really defining the kind of band we wanted to be and I feel With Might And Main, shows that growth. I'm excited for everyone to hear our creation. All the lyrics come from real experiences, opinions and feelings, and I think everyone will be able to relate to at least something on the album."

Having already received support from stations such as Radio 1 and Kerrang! with their song "Grow", the band has never been more confident in the music they put forward and the message that it carries.
