Rozario – To The Gods We Swear
December 4, 2023
Heavy duty, rocking riffs….check, solid tight backing rhythm section….check, steamy, brazen guitar licks….check, powerful, passionate vocals….check, absorbing, engaging lyrics….check, well I guess they check all the boxes on a true, headbanging heavy metal experience, a well-oiled musical machine. There is absolutely nothing here not to love.

Reckless - Sharp Magik Steel
November 27, 2023
I can only say that although RECKLESS isn’t to be seen as a band that will change the face of Speed Metal, they are one of those that will get your juices flowing and your heartbeat racing.

Ronnie Romero - Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters
November 27, 2023
I hear a lot of influences flying by, and all of it put together makes “Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters” into a very pleasant album, on which RONNIE ROMERO can finally show what he is made of. And he is made out of stern stuff.

Stygian Fair – Aradia
November 27, 2023
“Aradia”, is their fourth full length album to date. And it is a very Melodic album, that brings us a mix of Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Progressive Rock. And what becomes evident from the very first tones until the end; these guys know how to play music, write songs and arrange them accordingly.

Suspect Hostile – The Nameless
November 27, 2023
It’s loud, it’s obnoxious, it’s filthy. But, it’s also Melodic where necessary, it’s organised and to my astonishment I have to concur that this is very easy on the ears. With that I am trying to tell you that the way SUSPECT HOSTILE has written, rehearsed, recorded and mastered “The Nameless” is such that you can hear every note that is being played.

Theocracy – Mosaic
November 27, 2023
My conclusion is that THEOCRACY are a band on top of their game, which in this case results in “Mosaic” being a very pleasant surprise.

PatriarcH - Demonic Heart
November 24, 2023
My advice to all the lovers of Thrash Metal mixed with Power Metal, step outside the Bay Area and Teutonic regions, and enter the Lowlands. You will find a lot of gems there, and this PATRIARCH album “Demonic Heart” is just one of those.

Vocifer – Jurupary
November 22, 2023
it is a case of enjoying every sound, every sound and all the Power and Heavy Metal that “Jurupary” has in store for us. And yes, the Pony Metal does pop up from time to time, but only when appropriate. But is has to be said, the mix used by VOCIFER throughout these songs is almost mesmerising.

Stitched Up Heart - To The Wolves
November 22, 2023
I can hear that the talent is there, I just feel that the songs sound too familiar, as if they’ve been done before.

Spillage - Phase Four
November 22, 2023
Goose bumps, excitement, exhilaration, and the joy that comes with those feelings. What a bloody great album.

Seventh Wonder - Waiting In The Wings (Reissue)
November 22, 2023
And I have to tell you up front that in my ears and eyes “Waiting In The Wings” is SEVENTH WONDER’s most proggy album that I will be reviewing. It has the biggest number of elaborate turns and twists, without ever losing sight of the story they are trying to tell.
review
Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape (Reissue)
November 22, 2023
I just feel the safety harness has been pulled too tight, especially after their very heavy preceding album “Mercy Falls”. If they would have let loose on every song, like they have on the opening two, this would have been a cracking review.

Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls (Reissue)
November 22, 2023
As for the Progressive Rock element, they are there, and I have to say, all used at exactly the right time in the proper way. All these elements put together have made this one heck of an impressive album.
review
Savage - Glory Riders
November 22, 2023
On the Encyclopaedia Metallum site they compare the music of SAVAGE to early W.A.S.P., and I have to say, that is not a bad comparison at all, but just without the gory/sexually explicit lyrics.
review
Prong - State Of Emergency
November 22, 2023
After listening to “State Of Emergency” a number of times one thing has become clear; this album is a lot better than I gave it credit when I started listening. To me this even rivals classics like “Cleansing” and “Rude Awakening”. And that, my friends is quite telling.

Kvelertak – Endling
November 22, 2023
Ever since 2007 there is a band that in English would have been called STRANGLEHOLD, just like that brilliant song by legend TED NUGENT. But, as they decided to stick to their native language, it turned out as KVELERTAK. And if there is one thing that you can never accuse these Norwegians from Stavanger of it is that they are boring.

Archangel - Total Dark Sublime
November 22, 2023
Their music is a mix of Traditional Heavy Metal with Punk and Horror elements, with some Glam Metal influences thrown in for good measure. They are trying their hardest to sound as Underground as possible, but are not being helped by a crisp, clear and outstanding sound and production. That makes listening to ARCHANGEL a lot less obscure and “Total Dark Sublime” a lot less scary.
