Ioannis - (Ioannis)
September 29, 2004
Ioannis Vasilopoulos, mostly known as just Ioannis, is one of the most renowned cover artists for not only the genre (and sub-genres) of Heavy Metal and Rock but also Jazz, Electro and other musical fields. An artist who's drawn the cover artwork (and not only that) for some of your all-time favorite albums. To name a few bands whose albums' artworks Ioannis has drawn, I'll just mention Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, Fates Warning, UFO, Dokken...Wait till you read this interview, your jaws will drop (like mine did) after you read all the bands Ioannis has worked with! Over 160 covers...from the early 80s to now. Without any further ado, my dear readers, here is Ioannis' interview with his Greek compatriots at Metal Temple Magazine.

interview
Danny Vaughn - (Tyketto)
September 19, 2004
Danny Vaughn surely is a hard working musician. In my mere eyes, he's also a little bit unlucky. I was convinced this man would build a successful career since firstly hearing his charismatic voice in Waysted's Save Your Prayers (1986) album. Then came Tyketto... Data: I can't - even now - explicate why this band did not went as famous as a lot of other overestimated contemporaries [Checkin' out the band's Don't come easy (1991) notorious debut release I guess you'll come up with the same wonder...]. Danny's own band, Vaughn, took over from where Tyketto had stopped with a number of – at least – notable albums (2001's Fearless recommended). In addition, a collection of acoustic songs – Standing Alone - was released under the name Danny Vaughn in 2002. So, year 2004 now and Danny Vaughn is certainly not tired. A new project CD under Frontiers Records, From The Inside, plus a long-awaited Tyketto reunion European (mainly) tour sums up why this musician trully love's what he's doing. And we surely wanna know more...
interview
Kevin Ridley - (Skyclad)
September 1, 2004
Skyclad's probably the most well known Folk Metal band in the book of Metal history. The band's course started in 1991 and together with x-singer Martin Walkyier they managed to create a distinguishing sound by using pipes, fiddles and all sorts of traditional instruments, combined with a Folk breathing core. Things though started to get tense within the band's borderlines and after Another Fine Mess (2001) Walkyier left the band. A new singer was found shortly after Martin had left and his name's Kevin Ridley. Together with Kevin, they released No Daylights Nor Heeltaps (2002) and now they are about to release their second album with Kevin as their singer, A Semblance Of Normality. We contacted Kevin via e-mail and here's what he had to say about a lot of issues concerning Skyclad's past, present and future...and of course a few questions about himself as a person.

interview
Bill Leverty - (Firehouse)
August 3, 2004
In the early 90s when Grunge music made its appearance, Heavy Metal and Hard Rock went through some pretty rough times. A lot of Hair Metal (or Glam Rock if you prefer) bands vanished as Grunge made its way up in the music industry (though it didn't last that long after all). As the majority of those bands seemed to fade away, there were a few which, surprisingly enough, had a huge impact upon music fans all around the world. Among these few bands was the U.S. Glam Rock band, Firehouse. This band managed to conquer all just within their first 3 years of existence, also being awarded (back in 1991) with the Best New Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Act award. They not only managed to survive through the 90s but created great records throughout their entire course. Last year marked the band's latest album release Prime Time but was also the year for a great tragedy as bassist Bruce Waibel passed away (he'd joined the band in 2000). I had the chance to interview Bill Leverty, Firehouse's guitar player, via e-mail. Read this quite interesting interview because... that was all he wrote.

Alex Krull - (Atrocity)
June 13, 2004
Atrocity is one of Germany's first Death Metal bands (if not the first) and Alex Krull (singer of Atrocity) has always been around! By getting to know Alex from up close you realize that he's not only a great musician full of endless inspiration but he also is a great person! Eleni and I met him at a hotel in the centre of Athens and he was more than delighted to talk to us about Atrocity's new album, Atlantis, the past (some great stories), the present (about his wife Liv Kristine and their work in Leaves' Eyes) and the future.

Jack Starr - (Guardians Of The Flame)
April 11, 2002
Most people will probably have heard of Jack Starr in one way or another. After all, he was one of the founding members of Virgin Steele and afterwards had a couple of excellent albums with Burning Starr as well. The last couple of years it has become rather silent concerning Jack, untill now that is, as he is back with a new band and a lot of plans for the future, but before we delver further into that, we first ask him what exactly went wrong between him and David Defeis during the re-mastering of the first two Virgin Steele albums....
