Prophecy
Gost
On the album, the melody creeps through the darkness, each note tinged with a sinister edge. The storm outside mirrored the turmoil within, as the keyboard danced under the musician's fingers. The music told a story of shadows and secrets, drawing the listener into its dark and stormy depths. If this is Satan coming back to move us forward, I say welcome him with a smile.
Oneiric
Kelevra
The album started off a bit slow, but it picked up with energy and intensity, as well as varied riffs as it moved along. I like that the band took some chances, and changed their sound a few times along the way. Although the vocals were raging and the singer has a strong harsh voice, a little variation on that front could have lifted the album up a bit more.
Open Wide O Hell
Fall of Serenity
Melodic Death Metal is one of those genres that has become overgrown with bands lately. As I see it, there are two ways to separate yourself from your peers…either go harder, or go more melodic. This bans leans towards the former of the two, because many of their melodies are subdued. The more “pedal to the floor” type of sound makes sense, when you consider their introduction, but I don’t hear a lot of surprises. It’s a good album, however, but could be better if the band did supply more surprises.
The Way of Ancients
Volcandra
The album is a testament to the band's ability to blend hardened metal elements with a touch of melody. Each track is a powerful display of raw energy and aggression, yet beneath the surface lies a subtle layer of melody that adds depth and complexity to the music. From blistering guitar riffs to soaring melodies, the album is an exploration of the intersection between metal and melody, leaving listeners immersed by its raw power and emotional depth.

Magnetic
Dune Pilot
“Magnetic” is an excellent showing for DUNE PILOT’s first album on the Argonauta label. It manages to explore a lot of range while still forging straight forward.
Witchorious
Witchorious
I can’t say there is anything extraordinarily innovative about WITCHORIOUS, the band or the album, but there is something that is undeniably compelling about them both.
Opus Ferox II – Mark of the Beast
Loch Vostok
This album seamlessly blends three distinct elements into a cohesive and captivating whole. The musicianship displayed is nothing short of fantastic, with each musician showcasing their talent and skill with precision and flair. The progressive heaviness of the music adds a raw and intense energy. Yet, amidst the heaviness, there is a melodically blissful quality that provides a sense of balance and harmony. It's this balance between technicality, intensity, and beauty that elevates the album to greatness, creating a listening experience that is truly unforgettable.
Fall
Borknagar
BORKNAGAR's back, and with another masterpiece into Progressive/Avant-garde Black Metal/Folk/Viking! It's a matter of loving it or loving it!
Lunatic Choir
Night Shall Drape Us
It’s safe to say that I am disappointed with the album. A band with this level of talent and signed to a major record label should be forging new paths in the genre, and believe me, there is plenty of room out there for that. Instead, they go with what is comfortable and perhaps what they believe their fans will want to hear.

Ruin
Fallen Utopia

The Aeon Discordance
Shadowpath
What impressed me most was the rich background elements and the band’s sense of grandiosity. They have carefully crafted the album, with impeccable attention to detail, and emotional swells are in the perfect places. It’s strong and firm enough for Metalheads, and delicate enough for those of us who like melody in their music.
Obscured Until Observed
Venus
I often forget how Greece has an amazing underground Metal scene, with countless bands ranging from Thrash to Black Metal. Among these bands trying to get their name out there is VENUS: a Progressive/Thrash Metal duo consisting of guitarists Giorgis Verginis and Antonis Avtzis.
Iconoclast
White Death
Definitely not a bad album. It definitely showcases the extremity of black metal while also making it clear that keys and symphonics don't have to water down an album.
Völd
Nyrst
All in all, NYRST’s “Völd” is quite the nice surprise for me. This one has a variety of moods and styles that will appeal to a broad category of metal fans.
Escape From New York
Cash Bribe
Four guys from Brooklyn, New York mixing hardcore, punk and metal.
Callirrhoe
Synthetic Embrace
The album has ethereal soundscapes and cosmic vibes. The guitars and keyboards are seamlessly intertwined, creating a sonic landscape that is both mesmerizing and immersive. The balance between these two elements is one of the album's greatest strengths, adding depth and dimension to each track. From the celestial melodies of the keyboards to the driving rhythms of the guitars, it's a musical journey that transcends earthly boundaries, inviting listeners to explore the mysteries of the universe through sound.
Metaphysical Engines Approaching The Event Horizon
Hadit
What sets the band apart from their peers for me is their constant diligence and commitment to finding an unusual sound. Sure, there are common Death Metal elements here, including pig squeals, deep gutturals, and of course, the long song titles that don’t make much sense, but clean vocals and animated bass work? Not so common. It is precisely their willingness to experiment that makes the album as good as it is.
Dreams Always Die with the Sun/Cryptomnesia
EYE AM
When a new hard rock band is formed with musicians that have your mouth watering like with EYE AM, and even though it’s only a tease with two singles from the forth coming album, I still can’t wait to drop the needle down and see what lies ahead.

Down the Mountainside
Quantum
With its throwback sound that also feels undeniably modern, each track is a testament to the band's ability to capture the essence of both darkness and light. From haunting melodies that echo with a sense of foreboding to uplifting choruses that soar with hope, the album takes listeners on a journey through contrasting emotions. It blends the familiar with the unexpected, leaving a lasting impression that lingers long after the music fades.
Monokroma
Einvigi
The album ebbed and flowed with a delicate balance, weaving between moments of hope and despair, depression and anger. Each track was a journey through the depths of human emotion. From the haunting melodies of despair to the fiery outbursts of anger, the album resonated with a raw and unfiltered intensity, leaving listeners captivated by its emotional depth.
Original Seeds
Heart Line
This is a solid band who shows promise on the EP. All of the right ingredients are there, it’s just the way that the band puts them together. Their music could use some more dynamic textures so that the songs have some “big” moments to them. The five songs were easy on the ears, and melodic, but just need that extra push to really drive them home.
Dark Evils Desecrate
Tanin'iver
The album was decent, but the band tends to rely too much on past formulas and open notes to carry their sound. I have found that this is often the mark of inexperience, in terms of not wanting to experiment at all. What we have then is just a mediocre effort that could be much better if the band would push themselves out of their comfort zone.
