I Am The Intimidator
I Am The Intimidator
I AM THE INTIMIDATOR is a one-man band from Portland, Oregon. The music they play is classed as NASCAR metal, and seeing how some of the songs have been constructed I can agree wholeheartedly.
Beyond The Bells
Scavenger
You will not hear anything that is contemporary. Neither will you run into something innovative or inventive. What you will get is very good Old School Heavy Metal that will remind you of SAXON and a host of pure NWOBHM bands.
There Is A Place For Me On Earth
Defocus
These guys know how to handle their instruments, know how to play. They also are very capable of mixing the live instruments with the computerised ones. It sometimes reminds me of the vibe that REVOLTING COCKS used to have. They do have a good thing going there.
Maybe In Another Life
Bloom
As for the music of BLOOM that is being played on “Maybe In Another Life” , it ranges from soft and emotional intermezzos up and until almost Grindcore like parts. And of course everything in between. I am glad that they are able and willing to diversify as much as they do.
Cult Of Sin
After All
Now, after fifteen years, it’s a great pleasure to rediscover the original versions of the songs from “Cult Of Sin”, remastered for vinyl by Dan Swanö. The album is available on black, gold and smoke clear vinyl (100 copies each).
Blazoned Heraldry
Heraldic Blaze
I must admit, the album got better as it moved along, but is still sounds fairly bland when compared to other Black Metal albums out there, and really did not stand out much from peers.
On Earth Or In Hell
Black Absinthe
Black Absinthe from Toronto releases their second album.
My Name Is Katherine
Meden Agan
MEDEN AGAN deliver an exciting multi-layered album that is inspired by many genres like symphonic and melodic Metal, Heavy Metal, Power Metal, and melodic Death Metal
Astral Catacombs
Devotion
Astral Catacombs” is driven by its simplicity and directness of the guitar riffing and the spine-chilling melodic framework
Child Within the Man
Sebastian Bach
I make no secret of the fact that I love Sebastian Bach and he is one of my all-time favorite hard rock/heavy metal vocalists. The music he created with SKID ROW is monumental and remains three of the best albums in metal history. Well, the man is back after a ten-year absence with his latest release “Child within the Man”. I’ll be reviewing the album and also his concert from a few nights ago, so you’ll be getting a bonus twofer.
Back With a Bang
Kissin’ Dynamite
The German Glam Metal Lords are back for another bang!!!
Retrieval
Sacri Monti
This was an excellent album, and the band presents a very genuine sound here crossing the barrier between the sounds of yesteryear, and the modern sound of today. There are also excellent musicians, and present their skills within the context of the music, which always takes center stage.
Beyond the Reach of the Sun
Anciients
Overall, what strikes me most about the album, besides the fantastic musicianship, is the band’s sense of unwavering confidence. Every note seems calculated, and each track interconnected, but yet the album breathes, and deeply. This is indeed a new pinnacle of Progressive Metal, and the band carries that flag high.
The Head & The Habit
Greenleaf
From the cover art to the songwriting to the music and vocal execution to the production values, “The Head & The Habit” hammers all the chords.
In Honorem Mortis
Ad Mortem
I’m not saying “In Honorem Mortis” breaks any land speed record or that it is destined to be written into the blasphemous annals of Black Metal history, but it is a solid debut and AD MORTEM is a band to watch.
A Certain End of Everything
Blazing Eternity
Blazing Eternity’s “A Certain End Of Everything,” is a near perfect album that represents everything a fan of this style doom could want.
Martyr of Star and Fire

Secrets of the Future
Reliqa
Two things strike me about the band and album. First, the album is very well presented and produced. Second, it lives on the fringes of many different genres of music while refusing to commit to one over the other. They have carved out a nice niche for themselves with their talent and songwriting, and I think there is a lot to like for many different Metalheads out there.
Eternity Whispers
Oubliette
This album is every bit as engaging and commanding as their other music. This one will definitely be around for years to come!
Motherland
Concrete Age
Thrash Metal from the Caucasus.
Reincarnation
Aklash
This was one of the more creative albums that I have heard this year. They flawlessly blend genres together that have no business being walking hand in hand and they flaunt them with absolute confidence. Anyone hankering for something off the beaten path will surely find this to their liking.
Clear Cold Beyond
Sonata Arctica
Like it or not, the Finnish quintet is back with another excellent release.
Kaleidoscope
Rydholm Säfsund
Wow, what lovely AOR album in the vein ot the late 70s/early 80s this release is!
Aanima Vilis
Mortemorium
A fine mix between traditional Death Metal and Deathcore can be heard here.
Heavy Rain
Ivory Tower
Wow, what a great Poer/Prog Metal release on a traditional way of the genre!
Below the Lightless Heavens
Eternal Autumn
The throne of Melodic Death/Thrash Metal has a strong name for its heir on this Swedish trio!
Infinite Paradox
Chasing Titans
A good mix between Metalcore, Alternative Metal and New Metal influences can be heard on this band's music.
La Nuit Savage
Tonnerre
Hard Rock from Quebec, in French.

Noel Husser is an ambitious multi instrumentalist, songwriter and music enthusiast from Munich Germany. Noels […]
Fossil Gardens
Hail Spirit Noir
This album expertly balances two opposing concepts: light and hope, and darkness and despair. But it’s more than just maintaining a balance. At times, they have to let one side break through and then the other, because as a listener, this keeps you engaged. Their musicianship is fantastic, and the album was carefully crafted.
Committed To Flames
Mortal Chains
“Committed To Flames” is mainly driven by the guitars and the vocals, and both often sound one-dimensional and repetitive
Mourninghoul
Sarcasm
“Mourninghoul” is a mixture of melodic Death Metal, blackened Death, Doom Metal, and Black Metal, resulting in a blood-freezing, doom-laden and blackened sound
Karn of Burnings
Unshine
My basic review of “Karn of Burnings” is: “Holy fuck!” Followed by the donning of druidic robes and the rushing out into the forests and labyrinth of waterways that are Finland to achieve Nordic rapture.
Hexensabbat
Lucifuge
From the first discordant riff of “Gates of the Eternal Night” to the last fading echo of “Cursed to Eternity,” this album is relentless and furious.
Daydream Illusion
Thornbridge
There have been some absolute masterpiece concept albums that will live forever in hard rock and heavy metal music history, so when the German band THORNBRIDGE decided to dip their feet in that pool on the latest release “Daydream Illusion”, I dropped the needle down and cranked the speakers in hopeful anticipation.
