Almost Human
Wormhole
The songs are very short, because they are jam packed with material so dense, they would seem unbreakable. The gutturals are deep, their Death Metal sound is rich, and they toy with meter changes like a genius assigned a menial task.
Outside the Spiral
Till The Dirt
I can see why the band are signed to the biggest label in the Metal industry, because they clearly have talent, and they have found a unique style to land on, which is more than half the battle these days. But, the odd combination of sounds did not work well for me. It felt disjointed, and non-committal to me.
Dominus Meus
Kalmo
I found the album to be a spiraling trip to the dark corners of your mind, where cobwebs grow, and areas that you haven’t visited in some time but keep locked away. In these dark corners, you can hear footsteps approaching, but they never reach their destination. The album has potential, if the artist can season the songs with a little more flavor.

Jurupary
Vocifer
it is a case of enjoying every sound, every sound and all the Power and Heavy Metal that “Jurupary” has in store for us. And yes, the Pony Metal does pop up from time to time, but only when appropriate. But is has to be said, the mix used by VOCIFER throughout these songs is almost mesmerising.
To The Wolves
Stitched Up Heart
I can hear that the talent is there, I just feel that the songs sound too familiar, as if they’ve been done before.
Phase Four
Spillage
Goose bumps, excitement, exhilaration, and the joy that comes with those feelings. What a bloody great album.
Waiting In The Wings (Reissue)
Seventh Wonder
And I have to tell you up front that in my ears and eyes “Waiting In The Wings” is SEVENTH WONDER’s most proggy album that I will be reviewing. It has the biggest number of elaborate turns and twists, without ever losing sight of the story they are trying to tell.
The Great Escape (Reissue)
Seventh Wonder
I just feel the safety harness has been pulled too tight, especially after their very heavy preceding album “Mercy Falls”. If they would have let loose on every song, like they have on the opening two, this would have been a cracking review.
Mercy Falls (Reissue)
Seventh Wonder
As for the Progressive Rock element, they are there, and I have to say, all used at exactly the right time in the proper way. All these elements put together have made this one heck of an impressive album.
Glory Riders
Savage
On the Encyclopaedia Metallum site they compare the music of SAVAGE to early W.A.S.P., and I have to say, that is not a bad comparison at all, but just without the gory/sexually explicit lyrics.
State Of Emergency
Prong
After listening to “State Of Emergency” a number of times one thing has become clear; this album is a lot better than I gave it credit when I started listening. To me this even rivals classics like “Cleansing” and “Rude Awakening”. And that, my friends is quite telling.
Endling
Kvelertak
Ever since 2007 there is a band that in English would have been called STRANGLEHOLD, just like that brilliant song by legend TED NUGENT. But, as they decided to stick to their native language, it turned out as KVELERTAK. And if there is one thing that you can never accuse these Norwegians from Stavanger of it is that they are boring.

Total Dark Sublime
Archangel
Their music is a mix of Traditional Heavy Metal with Punk and Horror elements, with some Glam Metal influences thrown in for good measure. They are trying their hardest to sound as Underground as possible, but are not being helped by a crisp, clear and outstanding sound and production. That makes listening to ARCHANGEL a lot less obscure and “Total Dark Sublime” a lot less scary.

Skuld
Nornír
This wasn’t bad necessarily, but it was patterned by the FWOBM, so it wasn’t very diverse. It was a fairly middle of the road Black Metal release for me.
Moonsplitter
Stone of Duna
Primarily Stoner Metal seasoned with Doom, Progressive, and Sludge elements, the best part of the album is probably the vocal harmonies. I am glad that there were no Harsh vocals, because it wouldn’t have worked with the music. The Production was also well done, and allowed the massive fuzzy sound to come through strong.
