Xenobiotic - Prometheus album cover

Coming to us from the land down under Australia, XENOBIOTIC has released their first full length album "Prometheus". This amazing Technical Death Metal album is a must have. They may very well be in my top ten favorite Technical Death Metal bands around right now. When I first heard this band my jaw hit the floor and I still get excited every time I listen to them.

The first track is "Prometheus I: Aether" it begins with a very dark sounding riff that transitions into a brutal song. The best way I could describe it is if you mixed BEHEMOTH with THY ART IS MURDER. Heavy isn't even in the same ball park as this song as it completely demolishes your ear drums. And then it seamlessly goes into the second track "Prometheus II: Genesis" which is just as brutal. The drums played by Mikey Godwin are absolutely astonishing. And the guitars are incredible not only do Cam Moore and Nish Raghavan tear it up with the Death Metal but they also play some incredible melodic guitars.

"The Gift of Fire" really tears into it and is an absolute banger. TJ Sinclair is a beast of a vocalist and I as a vocalist am jealous of his range. Fabian Dorkins' bass lines are as incredible as the guitars on this song as well. "Alive" is one of those songs that just give you chills because of how bad ass it is. Right from the beginning it had me wanting to bash my head through my table. The craftsmanship on this is impeccable. "Nether II: Hindsight" is dark and has a sense of deep anger, but it also is very melodic. It almost has a brooding feel to it which I enjoyed very much.

"Alone" begins and it starts off pretty slow but that changes pretty quickly. This is one of the best songs on the album by far. I can't really pinpoint what makes it one of my favorites. I think that all around it just represents the style of music very well. "He Who Dells in Grime" is all around amazing but I do have to point out that the drum work blew me the fuck away. I was awestruck with this song and loved every last second of it. My favorite song on the album hands down has to be "Prometheus III: Nemesis". It's songs like this that keep me faithful to Technical Death Metal. The only thing I can really say about this song is that it is perfect in every way. All the instruments are magnificent as well as the vocals. I really wish it could have been a ten minute song but that's just me being greedy. The break around three minutes is really what got me. I highly recommend this album to fans of Tech Death and Deathcore.
