Heavy metal is still alive! USA Heavy/Power to be more specific! That's what Warrior want to scream. How many Heavy Metal albums come out these days? I mean Heavy Metal not Black, Death, Prog, Power or whatever. Not too many that's a sad fact. Why is that? Well, maybe Pure Heavy Metal is not so popular anymore..
After their reunion Warrior strike with their third full length album (they have one back in the 80's and one after their reunion in 98) and I'm sure that they are full of expectations for a brand new career. Is The Code Of Life good enough to place Warrior back in hearts of the Heavy Metal fans? The answer without a second thought is YES! Their style as I've mentioned several times on the introduction of the review is the so called USA Heavy/Power Metal of 80's(Which I consider as PURE Heavy Metal) enriched with many touches from classic glorious Heavy Metal Bands of the past. This album is a proof that not matter how many years have passed ( they were formed back in 1986 if I'm not mistaken and they quit the band pretty close to that date) the guys from Warrior know how to play Heavy Metal. I's not something that someone can easily forget! What should you expect from The Code Of Live? Straight Heavy Metal with amazing riffs, killer solos, great vocals ( By Rob Rock) and a pretty tight rhythm session. The arrangements are excellent and the production crystal clear! I can't find a single reason that can make you feel let down if you get this album. Of course some new Metal fans might find this kind of metal a bit Old Fashioned. That's true. You can say that this album has the 80's feeling inside it but at the same time it's fresh and the production allows the guys to show their abilities without any problems.
This album is a MUST for all those who miss USA Heavy/Power metal but younger metallers should check this album out too and give themselves a chance to discover Warrior. They don't sound like Hammerfall or Edguy but Warrior have definitely their own sound and this is something that we should all have in mind. With albums like The Code Of Life Heavy fuckin' Metal will never die. Well Done guys!
