THE QUILL are a Swedish rick band that plays in the Stoner Rock, & Hard Rock playground for a long time. Thee band has been on a hiatus for many year and decided to re-isssue all of their releases. This one is one of them. "Voodoo Caravan" was and is still excellent and actual Rock, even if it sounds a lot of the time ...the nineties. We have twelve songs here. I try to be impartial but its hard for me since I really dig their music. I discovered them while reviewing them and i don't know why I've never heard of them before but it's about time! They play great inspired Rock, with very entertaining and catchy songs.
For example, the title is quire a killer one with its groove and riffing. "Sell no Soul" is a riff driven master and it rocks the place hard. You can't remain passive while listening to their music. "Shapes of Afterlife" is very dynamic and quite a nice trip for bass lovers. Always energetic, always powerfully rendered, always the quill. "Wade Across the Mighty River" is a song that's surely being inspired by Robert Plant. It has his soul and feel all the way through this. It's a beautifully smooth, acoustic song. "Overlord" also reminds me of the mighty LED ZEPPELIN, but it's nicely done without doing the copycat thing. "Hole in my Head starts up with a little electronics in the bass to pursue, and then ascension to massive peak levels of Mt Rock n Roll.
This album is pure rock and entertainment.I highly recommend it. Do yourself a favor...listen to it!
