Stuck Mojo - The Great Revival album cover

STUCK MOJO is a band followed by a great biography as they were one of the first acts in the 90's period who tried and experimented the new 'rap' Metal genre named as Crossover. They have shared the stage with well-known artists such as TESTAMENT, MACHINE HEAD or SEVENDUST in their European and American tours, under the contract of Century Media before they entered the Napalm Records family.

It is certain that unless you listen to The Great Revival album, it is impossible to realize what it is all about, cause STUCK MOJO's music does not fit into any of those classical music categories or sub-genres and it surely could be characterized only as something special, as they have mixed the aggressive metalcore riffs and vocals with hip-hop, pop and southern ideas. To tell you the truth I always considered the fact that some bands mix so many things a desperate try to make their music one of a kind and that most of the times they end up with the total different result as the desirable. The same happens also here where we face a band which is a bit overreacting.
Trying to get into their mood, the deduction is that they target to create a couple of hits for every kind of music tastes and with this album maybe they can succeed that with songs like 15 Minutes Of Fame or Friends where you hear some harsh vocals at the beginning, paused by the singer's rap or the guest female vocals, all together escorted with Hard Rock guitars or intense drum blasts (?!?). In addition, there are a couple of songs like Country Road or Superstar Part 1 which you could easily imagine them as a soundtrack to an MTV soap opera or a duet with Anastasia.

STUCK MOJO seem to be lost in the early fashion of the LINKIN PARK era that passed away a few years ago and if you are a fan of heavy music - even in the most alternative versions of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - do not bother checking this band.
