When I had first received this album, I looked at it as one of millions albums I need to review while thinking that what is coming next is not about to be special. I know that the style of the band is AOR / Melodic Rock, and I was sure that they would not be in my style, but why??? I don't know! I mean I love Melodic Rock / Heavy Metal / and all the other Melodic things.Well here we go!I took my Samsung Galaxy and connected it with to my USB, and in 1 second the album was on it. First step for the review is done.
When I had finally pressed the play button I heard the "Intro", and immediately found it very melodic and unique. Two minutes later the song "Gonna Show the Way" came out and I was shocked by the good lyrics and the band's optimism about the world!I mean, the 21st century is full in chaos and Black / Death / Grind bands that have been doing the opposite of hopefulness, and here from afar (for me) in Sweden, came this band with the words "as long as we have a faith in each other, in every hour, every day". That was a heart warmer.
The music is great and these guys reminded me of the BEATLES - their music and lyrics full of love, and it's very rarely in this world. The SONIC STATION debut features four different vocalists: Tove Lo, Kristoffer Fogelmark, Magnus Blacklund and Swedish television star Marika Willstedt. All four vocalists have strong melodic voices, and they are amazing! I think that reminds me the VAN CANTO band, but for me they are much better and melodic. If you ask me, these singers should go to the "American Idol" straight up to the final.
One of their best songs for me is "You Have To Let Me Go", where Tove Lo shows her amazing voice along with the guitar parts. Another amazing song "Never Let the Sunshine Die" is full with good guitars solos and incredible voice of Kristoffer Fogelmark. I think this album is one of the best albums I heard in 2012 and it's a perfect way to start your morning. This album is astounding!Everybody should give this band a chance and I'm sure they will going to be one of the best AOR bands in the world!!! Now I need run to the shop to buy it.
