Just to make things clear, there are two bands of the same name, so this one is the Italy based Grind-core, Death-grind, Math-core oriented group, whilst there's one more which is more of a Black Metal project, and as far as I think it's a one-man project. Don't mistake the two, although both are great - you can't argue with that. So, these Italian masters named ONRYŌ have recently dropped their brand new material, entitled "Mūto" on June 20^th, 2017, and this EP I'd assume contains four tracks. Not ordinary tracks, though! This was released through the currently highly rising and really interesting label from the same country, Everlasting Spew Records, and I would highlight that Metal Temple didn't ask me to review this, it was out of pure favor for the label and for the band - basically it's a bonus review. I heard this and was instantly blown away how good it was. The label didn't release many albums thus far, but what they did release is just amazing. To name a few: NAGA (also reviewed by me), VOIDS OF VOMIT, FRACTAL GENERATOR, MAZE OF SOTHOTH and so on.

Back to this record, it starts off right away with "Oni" and this song has an incredibly dissonant, grind-core oriented atmosphere, mixed with lots of math influences, the atmosphere is deadly, the vocals are incredible, the riffs are technically bursting. It's incredibly fast. Let's not stop here, with its less than two minutes the song packs a punch of both Grind-core, Math-core, and lots of Death Metal growls added, too. "The Pyromaniac - Anarchogrind" is the second track from the four, and it's a bit slower at the start, although we all know where this is going. Pure madness gets unleashed with more Metal oriented growls. Screams from the Grind genre can be heard too, but the two gets pretty nicely mixed. I am constantly reminded of CEPHALIC CARNAGE, THE RED CHORD, A MILLION DEAD BIRDS LAUGHING, late OBLIVIONIZED and so on. "Humanphobia" is the third song. Almost the longest and it's the penultimate one. Surprisingly, this one does not focus on speed that much, at least not at the very start. It fades in slowly, and later all those elements of brutality get added to spice things up. In the meantime, I realized the band name was in Japanese, but I have no idea what it means, searched but can't find the translation. In the meantime, the third song set hell loose. It's just a mind-blowing track, brutal from the very start until the very end - giving no rest to the Grind maniacs, not that they want it or anything. Last track - "Sickness and Aluminium Foil Helmets". Those track names are incredibly hilarious, but when you listen to them - you can't exactly laugh, because your mind is in process of trying to realize what it's listening to - and it's tough. This track is the longest with its 4:23 minutes. It's bizarre. It focuses more on the Technical side of instrumentation, but the vocals keep getting angrier and angrier. If there's one album I really want not to end - it's this one. I might have just found a new favorite band with this album. Fans of bizarre sounds, Technical, Grind-Core, Math-Core, Death-grind musical landscapes will surely enjoy in this displeasuring album. It's too good to fit in one review.
