Here's an interesting promo from Greece. Odes Of Ecstasy is an Athens based act that have already released two albums from the U.S. label The End Records. Still I can't say that I know them - then again I am not Greg (you rule hehe). I don't recall any other Greek act releasing something from this label (which is known for its good taste in music).
Formed in 1993 they released their first promo in 1995 called Theogony. In 1996 they released a 5 song promo called Atheistic Emotion. Again in 1997 they released a single-track promo called Words Of Insanity - the specific promo gave them the deal with the aforementioned label. First seed of their collaboration was the 1998 release Embossed Dream In Four Acts which was followed by the 2000 release Deceitful Melody. After that the album came to a hold mostly cause of constant line up changes.
The band's base is death metal. However their style incorporates elements of modern metal, atmospheric and electronic parts. All these are nicely blended in a quite delicate and innovative way. The fuse of clean vocals is quite discreet yet successful. Special mention to the keyboards use that definitely give that extra taste in the band's sound.
In conclusion this promo paves the way (?) for a very interesting album to come. All those who enjoy modern death metal should definitely check these dudes out.
