Stag Party
Oaths

Manchester, United Kingdom based five-piece hardcore/Dirty Rock 'n Roll band, OATHS, have released their debut EP, called "Stag Party", and it displays the sound of a very booze-filled and chaotic one. The band, who are clearly influenced by the likes of COMEBACK KID and EVERY TIME I DIE, start bold, fast, and hard, and don't slow down for a second. No breathers in this one. The album takes off on a high and it just keeps on going strong without subsiding once.
However, they do take the risk of flying a little too close to the sun and are thus in danger of burning themselves. Doing your same old thing throughout a whole album can convey some monotony, and in this case, sadly, it does. Especially the singers' screams can be a bit annoying from time to time, even though his normal singing voice is pretty cool. All in all I can't have any complaints about any of the musicians, but I do get the feeling they are capable of playing more diversely and with more technique and originality. I guess they still need to find their own voice, but of course, there's still plenty of time for them to do so.
One cool fact is that they seem to get inspired by some recent popular TV-shows. They have a song called "Hank Moody", obviously named after the main character from sex, drugs and rock 'n roll filled series Californication, and "I Am The Danger" is that iconic quote by Breaking Bad's main character, meth cook Walter White. In between those two they also visit "Amsterdam".
So in short, their debut EP isn't all that, but OATHS may yet become a force to be reckoned with in the Hardcore (under)world. But anyway, a stag party in Amsterdam with Hank Moody and Walter White? You can sign me up any day.<
