Nocturnal Breed - We Only Came For Violence album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: NOCTURNAL BREED; signed via Folter Records, hailing from Norwegian grounds - performing Thrash/Black Metal, on their 6th album entitled: "We Only Came For Violence" (released June 28th, 2019).

Since formation in 1996; the quartet in question have 6 albums in their discography so far, I'm introduced to their 6th album entitled: "We Only Came For Violence". 13 tracks ranging at around 49:06; NOCTURNAL BREED arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Thrash/Black Metal amalgamations. The cryptic; cinematic introduction "Iron Winter" begins the record, until the speedy menace of "Choke On Blood" unleashes mandatory hostility. Hardened hymns fueled into a blistering barrage of amplified adrenaline, boistrously bouncy crunchiness & atmospheric deadliness all compile a concretely gnarly flair of flamboyantly fierce firepower that will make you rage with relentlessly thrashing velocity. Demonstrating extreme aggression; versatile vehemence, while showcasing unique utilizations of savagely sinister subjugation.

Consisting of S.A. Destroyer on bass/vocals; the frontman injects an audible dose of infectiously thumping melodies that manifest into a groovy execution, energized with gritty harmonies & seamlessly sonic rituals of organically solid substances – while screaming with vengeful shreiks, raspy pipes & lungs of high-pitched quintessentials. "Nekrohagel" distributes electrifying domination from duo guitarists Axeman I. Maztor & V. Fineideath who supply rapidly swift nimbleness, & momentously virtuosic tempos of thunderously primitive technicalities. The titular track & "Frozen To The Cross" viciously provide frantically harmonic distinction; forging a distinguished blend of complexly creative dexterity, diligent dynamics & demonic chaos converge chugging gallops & blast beating finesse.

Tex Terror on the battering drums hammers his set with steely precision; slamming with immensely intense pummelling, pounding perseverence & subtly rambunctious rhythms that meticulously portray razor-sharp snappiness with quirky quakes that swerve like a bulldozing speedhorn. "Desecrator" embellishes on experimental lacerations; ripping with roaring shreds, menacing stampedes & maliciously hasty grinds in which promtly persists with frolicking exuberance & volatile variety. "Cannibalized By Fear" is another short slab of an intro; overarched with more obscure ramifications, until transistioning onto the meaty "Sharks Of The Wehrmacht" – juxtaposed with jumpy weight, and a fluidly polished sound production make for an arse-kicking time. Up to this point; I hear an abundant influence from TOXIC HOLOCAUST mastermind: Joel Grind, which is awesome.

"Limbs Of Gehenna" crafts catchy hooks; grunty growls, and a trailblazing tradition of punchy riffs and spearheading solos salubriously thrash with pursuits of blackened blasphemy with monstrously yet wildly rushing mayhem. "War-Metal Machine" rivets with more songwriting memorability; radically manifesting profusely robust momentum, tenaciously venomous spits of rowdy yells that pulse with rawly rough screeches while pumping out pandemonium & terrifying stability. "Can't Hold Back The Night" exercises consistently efficient potency; vibrantly implementing inventive harmonies, and an embodiment of hell-raising enrichments in which revolves around a bombarding blitz of ferociously hellish instrumentation & malevolent musicianship. It's a helluva long record; yet seemed replayable quite easily.

"Bless The Whore" is your typically titled Blackened Thrash Metal track; with a thick, nasty and filthy formulaic - NOCTURNAL BREED are a spreading plague of wrathful oppression. "We Only Came Here For Violence" continues to keep me captivated; engaged, and enlighteningly fulfilled with ruthlessly motivating madness. Overall concluding the record with the finale song: "A Million Miles Of Trench"; I am compelled to say that this is a remarkably splendid record, and is most certainly a black-thrash maniac's wet dream - definitely worth the time - with a few filler songs, they have a knack for contrast & refreshingly talented potential. Good shit!
