Over the past few years in terms of music I have noticed the surge of 80s style Hair Rock and Metal has made a triumphant comeback. Bands like JETTBLACK, CRASHDIET and RECKLESS LOVE have certainly hit all the right spots musically for those who love a dance and flawless sing along. The latest one to hit those right spots is Hard Rock duo NELSON with their latest album "Peace Out".
Now I understand that NELSON aren't exactly new to the scene, in fact they have been around for a couple of decades now. They achieved success in the early nineties with their debut album "After The Rain". They were however met with struggles including the iconic move towards Grunge Rock, lack of support from the media and conflicts with their record label. Despite splitting with Geffen Records in 1995, they continued to release albums under their own label. Now proudly part of Frontier Records their new album shows us they still know how to rock.
Their latest addition to their discography "Peace Out" is my first experience of this dynamic duo. At first listen they sounded like a brand new band; not that's a bad thing. With the sun shining and my holiday to Sweden not being too far away this album was the perfect soundtrack I needed. The bouncy, happy sounding Rock sounds reminding me of summer time and providing the perfect dance soundtrack ticks the boxes. From "Back In The Day" to "Rockstar" this eclectic selection of music is the ideal soundtrack to an upcoming summer.
The components of this album are the masters behind this beautiful specimen; these include the powerful vocals, flawless guitar working and the drums and bass providing just the perfect backbone for their sweet music. Honestly, this album is a Hard Rock fan's dream album.
If you like blistering solos, husky vocals and a lot of hair then this is the album for you.
