This is Rock

Ninth album for the band GALLOWS POLE, from Vienna, Austria. Living in Germany but being Italian, when I received this album I felt quite guilty because I did not know them, so I gave a read to their bio (in activity since 1982) and at the cover of their new album, name with a simple, direct and promising "This is Rock". Almost certainly named after the famous LED ZEPPELIN song (part of "Led Zeppelin III", 1970), I had a lot of confidence that I would enjoy this band and this album
And instead... this is the only connection to the word rock that I have found. I think this is one of the most useless, most empty and dullest album I have ever listened to, a type of rock that you could hear in a village festival and still be unsatisfied. All the ideas present in this album smell of deja-vu, like for example, in the opening riff of "Summerdays", and I cannot find a bit of energy in any song (just listen to the chorus of "Midnight gambler", and even the final ballad "When you love" does not bring this album home. I will not say anything more about this album, just save your money, almost everything on the market today is (much) better. Really sorry to write such a review, but unfortunately that's my opinion, this album is not rock.
