Coming to us from Queensland, Australia is the band ETERNAL REST and their third full length album "The Picture of Hatred". This is one album I have been anticipating for quite a while now. If you are looking for some straight up good Death Metal, look no further. We have Shanon Davern on vocals, Michael Hunter on drums, Jake Kaiser on guitar and Anthony Postlethwaite playing bass. This 10 track album is sure to get your Death Metal needs taken care of and will probably not cuddle you after. So get ready to have your face bashed in by some god damn metal!

The first track "Sanctuary Alight" doesn't even ease it in nor spit on it before fucking your ears. The song just goes hard as fuck and doesn't hold back. If this song doesn't get your rocks off I don't believe you actually like metal and you need to go elsewhere. The next song up is "This Will All End in Violence" which has an old school feel to it as well as a kind of groove feeling. This one will have you headbanging immediately. I completely loved this song from start to finish. "Obscured Faith" busts in like the cops raiding your house. This song is pure unadulterated Death Metal. My first reaction when this song came on was "Holy Shit!" and it really didn't change. Everything about this song was gold, from the Vocals to the Drums, Bass and Guitars.

"The Will of Death" keeps up the pace of the album and keeps your ears bleeding. This beast of a song is sure to fill you with rage and make you want to beat the shit out of the next person who says one wrong thing to you. Hell you may even just see yourself in the mirror and try to fight yourself. "Chained to Nothing" brings the aggression down a bit, but not much. This song sounds a bit more technical than the previous songs. I think most people will really find this one enjoyable. It's four and a half minutes of quality metal.

"The Painted World" just jumps right back into unrelenting and glorious Death Metal. This is another one that has a sort of groove feel to it. It's like if BLOODBATH and CANNIBAL CORPSE had a love child. This is one of my more favorite songs on the album. "The Picture of Hatred" really reminded me of older BEHEMOTH which completely blew me away. To me this is the best song on the album so far. "Water Me Not" and "Walk With Me" are really good songs but I really want to talk about the final song "Awaken, O Fury". This song is seriously the best damn song on the album. I'm not exactly sure on what makes it stand out from the others, but god damn is this song good. From the first note to last, this song just had my blood pumping and boiling. This whole album is fucking sick! GO AND BUY THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!
