DAYS OF LOSS hailing with Melodic Death / Thrash Metal from Vienna, Austria. The band was formed in the mid 90's, since then releasing "Lobotomy" in 2001, "Sleeping Gods Lie" in 2004, "Life Is Decay" in 2010 and new album called "Our Frail Existence" which is about to be released via Noisehead Records.

"Prelude" is the first setting stone of the calamity about to be felt from there on, adhering gentle riffs slowly building up into aggressive sounds. "Catharisis" is a striking knock, fast paced cracker, highly catchy, appearing quite melodic. "Endtime" treads the field of the Death / Thrash mixture, channeling unbounded aggression. "Thanatology" continues the massacre with thrashed up drumming while "Cirlce's End" inflicts depression, yet gushing with melodic flavours similar to IN FLAMES. "Corpsemourn" proves the proficiency of DAYS OF LOSS, diversify their musical style, blending IN FLAMES aspects with early Gothic / Doom disclosures. "Await Pain" has various of CREMATORY sniffs along with Doomed SATURNUS. "Wearing the Ashcrow" laments the early aggression with class. "This Frail Existence" itching modernity, employing the brutality of HEAVEN SHALL BURN alongside the generated early 90's assembly of IN FLAMES, transpiring melodic riffing with blasting rhythms. "Through Empty Eyes" is no more than a classic Melodic Death Metal number, terrific lead guitar works, headbanging triumph.

The Metallers from Vienna turned up with a kick ass album, be ready for knuckles and a punch in the face. Melodic Death Metal saw better days in the past, but these guys did a fine revamp while also letting Thrash and Doom Metal slip in the passages. Be sure that this is an energetic standout.
