It is always good to see bands make new albums, especially when you like the music that these bands play. So, here we have the brand new album of Chinchilla entitled Take No Prisoners.
This is the fifth album of Chinchilla and at this point I must say that they have impressed me. Five albums in six years is not an easy thing. Anyway, Take No Prisoners is a good album and it follows the path of their previous albums. So we have here a quite good album of pure German Heavy/Power Metal ...and I don't think that I have to explain to anyone what German Heavy/Power Metal means.
...Well, you know, good and stable drums that together with the bass create a great backbone for the guitars which perform some really well turned-out ideas. Fairly good riffs and stirred solos. Some keyboards here and there throughout the album complete the work that the guitars do and construct a better atmosphere for the feelings that Chinchilla want to let out.
Thomas Laasch's voice is remarkable for the music that Chinchilla play. The production is not crystal clear but it's not very rough either. It is rough enough to be meeting our requirements. Thomas is very expressive and I believe that he gave all his feelings to this album.
To conclude, Take No Prisoners is an album I'd suggest to anyone that likes German Heavy/Power Metal and likes to listen to new, really good albums.
