Heathen Witchcraft
Angel Of Damnation
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: ANGEL OF DAMNATION; signed via Shadow Kingdom Records, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Doom Metal, on their sophomore album entitled: "Heathen Witchcraft" (released October 26th, 2018).
Since formation in 2004; the quartet in question have an EP, a Split and 2 full-length albums in their discography so far; I am introduced to their 2nd album entitled: "Heathen Witchcraft". 6 tracks ranging at around 48:31; ANGEL OF DAMNATION arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting, Doom Metal developments. "Brimstone Sorcery" begins the record; conveying in constructively distinguished distinctions, meticulous manifestations and amplified aesthetics of hardened hymns – fabricated finesse and flamboyantly harmonic melodies. The tone is slow-paced; still stablized with relentlessly rhythmic ramifications, attributed with boistrously bouncy bolts of energetically electrifying firepower. There is an old-school psychedelic persistence here, heavy hooks and captivating creativity and craftsmanship.
Consisting of Doomcult Messiah on vocals; the frontman demonstrates clean pipes of profusely robust screams and raspy, shrieking savagery. "Dragged To The Torture Wheel" generates complexly catchy grooves; distributed with dextrous diligence, culminated with infectiously injected inventions like atmosphere; ambience, progressively technical thunder and blistering heaviness as Avenger on guitars, bass and keyboards contrasts with excellingly primitive stabilty. "Gospel Of The Servant (The Damnation Of Gehenna)" consistently establishes conceptual elements, implementing fluidly polished sound production proficencies with rapidily swift nimbleness - balanced into a barraged frenzy of sharply sinister salubriousness, thumping with organic substances too.
Pummelling powerhouse drummer Skullsplitter also oozes with crunchy experimentation; dominating with diversely dynamic variety, showcasing solid slabs of concrete grit in the titular track – stampeding with rampaging haste and an efficiently composed arsenal in which provides mid-tempo chugs of galloping chaos and mayhem. "Lord Of The Seven Churches" thumps and jumps with maliciously elegant enjoyability, as audible bassist Forcas delivers a deadly contribution to the doomy storm of songwriting originality. ANGEL OF DAMNATION forge riveting riffs; speedy solos, meaty and weighted vocalization that raises the bar with a borderline foundation of gnarly expertise.
Overall concluding "Heathen Witchcraft" with the finale track: "Tear Off The Veil Of The Sun"; I discovered an exquisitely entertaining band who exemplify on interesting soundscapes, seamlessly sonic orchestrations and brilliant accurate coherence – If you love your Doom Metal with a dose of collectively mystical instrumentation and methodical musicianship, this is your band.<
