SPIRES, BLACKBALLED AND TWELVE GAUGE added to SOS Festival
June 22, 2014
With just 5 weeks to go SOS Festival 2014 serves up 3 further great additions to the line-up with SPIRES, BLACKBALLED and TWELVE GAUGE each added to the Dean Hocking (main) Stage.
SPIRES have graced the stage at SOS Festival in our earlier years. The Manchester-based prog metallers released a debut album in 2010, followed up with an acoustic album and are currently recording a 2nd album. In 2014 long-standing guitarist Paul Cuthbert left to focus on family-life and was replaced by Richard Corrie. We're really happy that the band has elected to play their comeback show at SOS Festival and we welcome them to the Dean Hocking Stage on Saturday.
BLACKBALLED are fronted by NEW MODEL ARMY guitarist Marshall Gill who formed Blackballed in 2012 in North East Manchester along with his brother and drummer Leon. Tom Wibberley joined on bass and Blackballed set about establishing their own band of groove-based rock. We're delighted to welcome them to the Dean Hocking Stage on Sunday.
TWELVE GAUGE formed in summer of 2012 in the North West of England, playing songs with mesmerising hooks and outstanding melodies. They've supported Orange Goblin, Bam Margera and Toesland. We're excited to present their hard rock sound on the Dean Hocking Stage on Sunday.
2014 marks the 7th annual SOS Festival, as always taking place at Radcliffe Civic, in North Manchester, indoor, over 2 days - 19/20th July. This year Day One is headlined by ABSOLVA, whilst ZP Theart's I AM I headline Day Two. Also appearing are SAVAGE MESSIAH, BLAZE BAYLEY, MONUMENT, TYSONDOG, TRIAXIS and many more.
