The past decade has seen a behemoth lie deep in the blistering molten lava of the musical subterranean. Biding its time. Patiently plotting its return for that one moment when new life desperately needed to be breathed into extreme music. Today the beast emerges stronger, heavier and darker than ever before in the form of genre-defining label Cacophonous, announcing its hugely anticipated relaunch.

Originally conceived in the winter of 1992, Cacophonous spawned into actual being in the spring of 1993 to initially release a series of seven inch singles from the likes of Monolith and Psychic Pawn. It was with the signing of Black Metal giants Cradle Of Filth that catapulted the label to the forefront of the underground ' unleashing the band and label's first full length album, The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh, on an unsuspecting world in early 1994. Since those initial years Cacophonous has grown into a byword for extreme metal, responsible for the burgeoning careers of Dimmu Borgir, Bal-Sagoth and Sigh.

The new incarnation will remain unafraid to champion the most diverse of genres; from death metal to darkwave and gothic metal through to the avant-garde. Cacophonous rises again, to prove that a radical approach is needed in these times of packaged musical commodities. Armed with a brand new roster, their first signing comes in the form of East Anglia's The King Is Blind who are set to release their

Debut full length album "Our Father" in early 2016.

The King Is Blind Is:

Stephen John Tovey - Vocals
Lee James Appleton ' Guitars
Paul Alan Ryan-Reader ' Guitars
Ceri Monger ' Bass
Barnaby Joseph Monger ' Drums

"Cacophonous has always had a reputation for uncovering some truly remarkable new talent, and we're delighted to continue the legacy not just of the label, but of British metal. Bands like Napalm Death, Cathedral, Paradise Lost, and My Dying Bride et al exploded out of the UK closely followed Cradle Of Filth's debut. No British band has seized the mantle for twenty years since then, has dared to be different and challenging, and to stand out and add to a glorious legacy. That is the full intention of The King Is Blind, for 'Our Father' to be an album that enhances the heritage of British metal". - Stephen John Tovey - Vocals

"I've been friends with TKIB guitarist Paul since 1992, from his early days in Cradle Of Filth. He played me some material when TKIB were in their infant stages, and I was blown away. The songs were immense; listening to them was like stepping back into the halcyon days of the death metal scene. When the opportunity arose to relaunch Cacophonous they were the first band I thought of in terms of a release; they're angry, visceral and brutal, everything you'd want in a death metal band. They're everything the label showcases"
- Neil Harding, Cacophonous Label Head

The King Is Blind boast an impressive heritage, with members drawing from a wealth of experience in Cradle Of Filth, New Model Army, The Blood Devine, and Entwined. With an impressive set of notches on the touring post, including Bloodstock, HammerFest and Temples festivals, alongside support to FEN and their recent UK run with Winterfylleth, there's no sign of rest as the band gear up to perform at Damnation Festival in November, with further dates for 2016 to be defining their sound as 'Monolithic Metal' to cover 45 years of the genres influence, the band are more determined than ever to remark the UK's place on the extreme music map. With forthcoming debut album "Our Father", due next year it's only a matter."

"It feels good to blast out some death metal riffs again, and I'm delighted Cacophonous, in their 'resurrection', want to put the record out. It married with the concept of Our Father, of the beast re-emerging, and it's a great closing of the circle for me. I couldn't think of a more fitting choice for such ungodly worship" - Paul Alan Ryan-Reader, lead & rhythm guitars

Unwilling to be shackled by convention and committed to its vision, Cacophonous is set to bring both established and obscure extreme music to a new generation of fanatical acolytes. Welcome to a new era.
