Coming to us from good old Dallas, Texas, is a really amazing Technical Progressive Death Metal band. BARING TEETH has released their third full length album "Transitive Savagery". If there is one word that I could use to describe this band it would have to be INSANE! This seven track album is nuts from start to finish and doesn't really let up at all. I do sense a slight hint of Grind mixed in with the Tech and Prog. The first song on the album is "The Quiescent Mass" which is the shortest at only one and a half minutes. This song alone gives you an idea of what you are in for with the whole album.

The second song "Abstracted Mind" is when you really start to hear the Prog and Tech come out of the band. Be it the Bass and Vocals from Scott Addison, the Drums by Jason Roe or the Guitars and Vocals by Andrew Hawkins. The song is completely everywhere and makes you feel like a patient in an insane asylum in the best way possible. The third song on the album is "Perikaryon" which does not fall short of the sheer insanity of which has sucked me in. It's in a slower tempo but the craziness is still very apparent. I don't know if you should mosh or dance to this song. Personally, I could see myself sitting down at a table with a candle in the middle, while drinking a bourbon on the rocks while listening to this.

"Aqueous" is the fourth track and the longest at eight minutes and forty two seconds long. You need to strap yourself in for a long journey into this almost Doom Metal sounding song. It's almost nine minutes of just sludgy doom that makes you feel like you are slowly sinking into your death in a bog. Somehow it still gives me the sense of pure anger and rage. It's probably my favorite song on the album thus far. And then boom, here comes "Transitive Savagery" to pull you out of the muck and bring you back to life. This song is definitely a mix of brutality and depression mixed into one angry ball. This is by far my second favorite song on the album.

"Vertiginous Noise" is the second to last song and it's absolutely a song where your eyes will roll into the back of your head while the deep riffs overtake your being. I feel like I'm listening to Jazz's bastard little brother that was locked up in the basement it's entire life, I fucking love it! The final song on the album is "Impressions Left Behind". And it on a very high note. This is the most Prog influenced song on the album. Nice time signatures that are well strung together. Everything about this one is great and I must tell you that you will love it if you love Prog. The guys did a wonderful job on this album.
