In 2008 BUSHWHACKER was created in Whitehorse, the Yukon Territory of Canada; the Yukon's only city that is kind of in the middle of nowhere. They now reside in Vancouver where they have released their second full-length album "The False Dilemma". They came to reside in a much larger city through the release of their debut self-titled album and their touring through BC and Alberta of the album to find it. The most fun part of this is in 2013, these guys released a 20 minute, one song EP "Fish Guy". This one-track EP keeps true to the evolution of this subgenre-less Metal band. "The False Dilemma" comes in at nine tracks and just about 45 minutes of listening time.

The open tracking "Tower" is immediately fun with a spoken intro that quickly shifts into the 'meat' of the track. Being one of the longest tracks on the album it also shows the bands dexterity in a track the runs just over seven minutes. "Tower" is an intense track that implements Alternative and Progressive elements well, but you still have the bite of a Doom filled loveliness. "Shikadance" is one of my favorite tracks on the album. The track supersedes sub-genre bullshit. It's all there. If you like metal music, you will like this track. There are prodigious guitar riffs littered all over this track. The drums and bass line work phenomenally to keep everything aligned and the vocals throw in a sting, enhancing the track that much more. There is so much quality in "Shikadance".

The following track, "The Return" is another that shows the overwhelming musicianship these guys have. It's a very dark and ominous track intelligently showing off a gloomy version of their writing. While dark can sometimes mean dim, this track is anything but dim. It is fantastically writing and executed. The short two minute and thirty second track "A Path" accurately sums up this albums' instrumental greatness in one solitary, mini track. The alternative is real in this track and it is profound. A soft almost angelic track shows the diverse range BUSHWAHACKER can create.

The final track "Golden Shell" is a perfect ending. It produces power both instrumentally and vocally. All the elements of this track, including the extraordinary bass work, gives another look into the incredible work these guys can do. I cannot believe BUSHWHACKER is unsigned. The music they produce is, without exception, too good to be unsigned. Take a listen, their music shatters everything subgenres create. Not only do you hear the greatness that lies within "The False Dilemma", you can feel it.
