Dazed and stoned, into the far reaches of somewhere, out of this world, a certain point in time and existence. When doped enough I'd bet that one could grasp a spacy kind of mood. Into the haze there are the vintage breathers JUPITER from Finland, reliving the old heritage left to us by such iconic monsters BLACK SABBATH, THE DOORS, BUDGIE, PINK FLOYD and HAWKWIND just to name a few. With the release of "Interstellar Chronodive" the Finnish trio took off to create an experience that would sink deep to fathom. In general, it ascertained itself to be a potential addition to a larger pantheon, but in the same breath it proved that there is a way to go from here.

JUPITER attempted to the refurnish the old basis to everything that has a hold in Metal and Hard Rock while twitching into the gutters of psychedelia. By writing long dopy epics, these guys tried to enter everything that influenced them and squeezed hard to get it done. With a measure of Fuzz sound, revamping the earlier pre-heavy distorted old-fashion, JUPITER captured that essence, delivering the psych into the Rock, the miasma into the vintage kind of Metal. Songs in the spitting image and resonances of "Stonetrooper" and "Vantage Point" enclose a sheer bliss, slamming with a few heavier notes, soft lead guitar blemishes and saintly kind of vocals that served as a pure contrast to ongoing musical fluctuations. The latter even sped its way a bit, a factor that is uncanny in comparison with what went on the release previously.

Things started to get a little dozy on the tracks between the two songs mentioned. Though the thirteen minute epos of "In Flux" was rather impressive and fine presentation of great musical ideas, it felt a bit too much, as if the band tried to find itself all throughout the song. "Premonitions" didn't quite help either, as like the songs before and after it. "Spirit of the Leech" started with force but got weaker as it progressed for instance. Generally, the situation got into a point where the album was tiring, almost letting one doze off. JUPITER played the right cards, but had a few bumps on the road. They hold the knowledge of how to create the psychedelia, I believe that what they need is find a way to electrify and it is possible in this genre.
