Rise Of The Empress
White Empress

Peaceville Records doesn't seem very peaceful with their latest release from Extreme Metallers WHITE EMPRESS, fronted by the Empress herself with her courtship of loyal men behind her. Her courtship included a couple familiar names to myself including ex-CRADLE OF FILTH guitarist Paul Allender and ex-UGLY KID JOE drummer Zac Morris, the Empress herself, the ever so stunning Mary Zimmer who is also from LUNA MORTIS fronts the band with one hell of a punch of power. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Welcome to the new home of many decently well known musicians in the Metal world, I came because of Paul Allender, I stayed because its badass, so without further ado lets talk about this madness. The introduction tracks "Rise Of The Empress," which leads into "The Congregation" are gonna welcome you with a kick to the gut, Mary Zimmer has no hesitation in her power with her vocals when the intro track ends. "The Congregation" is the first true idea you'll have of WHITE EMPRESS between catchy, harmonizing and melodic melodic riffs, drums to match the intensity of the guitars and vocals that'll eat at your brain you have just walked to the point of no return. The vocals vary from devastating growls to beautiful operatic style and they carry the song well. "A Prisoner Unleashed" is another song I want to talk about, this is the kind of song that the band will always carry around live, the style it's written in, the groove it has and the beat makes it a perfect live song. Plus when Mary is singing "I'll take you by the hand" you can practically see an entire crowd reaching out, singing along with her. This song also features some of the best guitar work this album had to offer.
Although normally ill talk about the last song, this is a case where I won't. This album is incredible in its own sense, its the kind of thing you need to hear and decide whether or not you'll like it. If you're not one of those people who are for whatever reason turned off by a female vocalist, it's definitely worth a taste test! Check it out below.
