Fortress Under Siege

What a surprise! This album is a blast from the past. FORTRESS UNDER SIEGE have released oneself titled EP in 1996 and as of late their first full length album released by Mad Metal Music Records. After 15 years of silence, let's see what we have missed all those years.
FORTRESS UNDER SIEGE are coming from Athens and they are playing Traditional Metal with epic moments and some progressive hints. First of all, the production is professional and clear. Musically, FORTRESS UNDER SIEGE have been influenced from NWOBHM era and some from U.S. Heavy Metal. After 15 years from their very good debut EP, they have been evolved in a great level and without losing their identity.
They inject progressive elements which are incorporated perfectly in their music. Michael and Georgios are giving the great epic atmosphere to the album, especially keyboards are not falling in the trap of progressive, but their part is to give the epic way in every track. My favorite tracks are "Gods of War", "The Mortal Flesh of Love", "Deeds of All Disgrace", "Alexander", "Night Caress", "Last Temptation" and "My Foulest Sin". I missed so much this era of the Greek scene when everything was pure and technology wasn't so much developed. Nostalgia...
