I had a recent talk with a friend of mine: when the Methuselah's of Metal fade out from the scene will there be anyone to create memorable music, will there be someone that will hold the Metal flag high and deliver us with the raw Metal energy that my blood and all of yours dear readers' needs? With the advent of all this stupid Metalcore and whatever '-core' bands that think that playing an electric guitar and dressed like a suicide addict is true Metal and the recent loss of Metal legend Dio, the future looks a little grim.

TRAITOR are here to prove us wrong, they storm the scene, gun blazing with their second album, and although this is the first time I listen to their work I am blown away, this guys are young and full of energy, their death punk grove hits your head like a 45 bullet, and fills your blood with the necessary energy to do some serious damage. TRAITOR posses the discipline of an older band and the fury of youth, killer combination if the musicians are good, and they are. There a few small melodic moments, were the guitars loose themselves into more technical fields but the insane punk vocals of Jack Delany comes to destroy the illusion-ary calmness.

TRAITOR's two guitars bring a maelstrom of cutting edge riffing, a combination in the sound that borders military dedication, the sound passes from one guitar to another as if they had an ages long grudge and shoot each other with riffs and solos and the only thing that keeps them together is the monolithic bass and the double drumming that is so massive it affects your breathing at some parts. Vocals are punk and clean, there are moments of a deeper growling, but never lose their energy during the whole song.

I hope we hear more from TRAITOR in the future, especially as good as "Breathless", I think that they are a band worth checking out.
