Casandra's Crossing - Garden of Earthly Delights
March 6, 2025
George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN) is a household name, Casandra Carson, lead singer from PARALANDRA is not…….yet, but this duo have joined forces and released a guitar-driven, edgy straight forward hard rock debut album “Garden of Earthly Delights”.

Sunbomb – Light Up The Sky
September 10, 2024
As someone who grew up with LA GUNS and STRYPER in the 80’s, I don’t have any need to keep listening to them, or any future iterations of them. Don’t get me wrong, they were both excellent bands, that forged the movement back in the day, and I listened to the shit out of them. This seemed like an odd pairing from the start however, and the music supported that for me.

Paralydium – Universe Calls
August 31, 2024
This was an excellent album but not without some consternation. Their level of technical ability is outstanding, but at times, they lost me in the journey of their construction of melodies. Sometimes they sound just a bit too sterile. Still, if you are a fan of Progressive music, there is a lot to like here.

Xeneris – Eternal Rising
July 22, 2024
The debut album of XENERIS is promising. “Eternal Rising“ has elements of symphonic Metal, melodic Metal, and Power Metal and this is all well mixed together

Seven Spires – A Fortress Called Home
July 13, 2024
The best part of the album is the incredible vocal performance of Adrienne Cowan, and the band’s musicianship in general. The production is also stellar, and everything is in its proper place. 12 songs was just a bit too many for me, and a couple of them weren’t as memorable as some of the others, but bravo, this is a very well put together album that speaks of triumph.

Vandenplas - The Empyrean Equation of the Long Lost Things
April 19, 2024
This was a fantastic album. For me, the best part of the album was listening to the complex compositions and their impeccable musicianship. Although the music is sophisticated, it is also very easy to listen to.

Turbulence – Binary Dream
March 26, 2024
The thing that hits the listener square in the jaw is the talent that the band has from top to bottom. The album is packed full of heavy, Djent moments, as well as more tender and personal moments. The only possible critique I could offer the band is to let some of the melodies ride out a bit more, like the themes in the final song. They ride that song into the sunset. Still, this is an outstanding album from start to finish.

Lalu – The Fish Who Wanted To Be King
January 15, 2024
“The Fish Who Wanted To Be King” . . . sheer, unadulterated pretension.

Nitrate – Feel the Heat
January 3, 2024
As someone who was raised on 80’s music, the highest compliment I can give the band is how this album would have fit right into the scene at the time. Modern AOR/Melodic Rock suffers from one thing…the inability to compose hooks and come up with original material. NITRATE have busted through those limitations with “Feel the Heat,” and it’s a very memorable listening experience.

Lynch Mob – Babylon
December 14, 2023
This was a tired and uninspired effort to me sounds like a release for the sake of a release, meaning that none of those trademark Lynch riffs or solos was anywhere to be found. Understand this: it is very hard for bands that have been around this long to continue to make good and original material, but this doesn’t even come close.

DGM – Life
November 21, 2023
Being around since 1996 and this being their 11th studio album, they have to constantly fight the urge to release songs of their past and hang onto the formulas which define their sound. But they fight this hard, and the result is an excellent combination of Progressive elements with melodic ones.

Care of Night – Reconnected
November 21, 2023
Nostalgic, pretty, and with hooks that last for days, “Reconnected” is a great way to introduce yourself to the band or reconnect with them for fans who know their work.
