Engorgement - They Rot Beneath Our Floor
May 8, 2026
To put your mind at ease, these guys not only know how to write Brutal Death Metal songs that will make your brain explode in order to paint the walls and ceiling, they are also able to make sure that all the instruments are not only sounding good, but distinguishable. Hats off to the production team!
review
Malignant - Segruocs Lacitsaiselcce
May 8, 2026
What you do get on “Segruocs Lacitsaiselcce” is the full second demo with the same name, plus the rehearsals for the (unreleased) third demo “Sacrilegious Writh” and some rehearsals from 1993. All together the band in combination with the record company have been able to compile over 78 minutes of material.
review
Sermon To The Lambs - Sermon To The Lambs
May 8, 2026
SERMON TO THE LAMBS starts off alright musically. It is devastatingly energetic and extreme, from the very first second. This kind of Brutal Death Metal with close connections to Grindcore will cut through you like the proverbial knife through butter.
review
Nefastis - Shadows At The Light Of Dawn
May 5, 2026
Symphonic Death Metal. What do I think of when I read this description of “Shadows At The Light Of Dawn”, the second album of the Italian band NEFASTIS? I really don’t what I am thinking, I’m just wondering if it works.
review
Imago Imperii – Century
May 5, 2026
Well, I must admit that I haven’t heard anything before this “Century” album, which does boast simple Heavy Metal with Classical guitar solos. The sound of the album is definitely good.
review
Michael Sweet - The Master Plan
April 30, 2026
As for any comparison to the music of STRYPER, accept for the vocals there is none. This is Melodic Rock; it’s much more acoustic, with only a few distorted guitars used here and there.
review
Teramaze - The Silent Architect
April 30, 2026
I will say this, though; there is not one second that is out of place throughout the whole album. All the songs that TERAMAZE have compiled here are without fault, make you feel just what the band wants, and are of an undeniable beauty.
review
Threat Signal - Revelations
April 30, 2026
THREAT SIGNAL apparently are very aware of what works for them, what doesn’t do it for them, but more importantly, with what kind of music they feel comfortable playing to an audience. And when a band has that sense of realisation and acceptance, who am I as an anonymous listener to question their choices.
review
HighWay - Last Call For Rock 'n' Roll
April 27, 2026
You won’t find any weird turns and breaks here, and you certainly won’t find any high-brow lyrics being written or difficult words being sung. Nope, this is as straight as an arrow, but with all kinds of directions being used where fitting or needed.
review
Metal Church - Dead To Rights
April 27, 2026
On “Dead To Rights” you will hear and invigorating and extremely inspired METAL CHURCH, very aware of the fact that they will not only have to meet, but also exceed a lot of the expectations that the Metal public will have concerned this new release.
review
Patriarchs in Black - Completely Covered In Black
April 27, 2026
What are my thoughts on what PATRIARCHS IN BLACK have chosen to play on their cover album “Completely Covered In Black”? The answer really was much easier to give than I would have thought beforehand; I like it a lot.
review
Martin Templum Domini – Mankind
April 24, 2026
I do like it when a band gets it right. And that is exactly what MARTIN TEMPLUM DOMINI does. They get it right. Yes, like any instrumental album within the Metal range you get a guitarist that is showing off his immense and (sometimes) impressive skills in a masturbatory way, and some put that ahead of the music in general. Thankfully these guys have not made that error.
review
Poseydon - Time Is A River And The Waters Are Red
April 24, 2026
As POSEYDON is a band that has been around the block a few times before now, I knew I could expect a band doing it just right. Well, that definitely is true on “Time Is A River And The Waters Are Red”, as they have delivered a very solid album this time.
review
Supralunar - Dead Come To Dance
April 24, 2026
SUPRALUNAR is a Heavy Rock band from start to finish, with a sideline into Party Rock, as some of the songs on “Dead Come To Dance” will show, starting with the title track. What the band does on this album is pleasant, very easy for the ears and a joy to listen to at a party, or when you’re in the mood for some light-hearted entertainment.
review
Unchosen Ones - Divine Power Flowing
April 24, 2026
This is certainly food for those Metalheads who like their music in bitesize chunks, ready for immediate consummation. I state this because the Melodic Heavy/Power Metal is as accessible as an open door, has no secrets or hidden layers to expose.
review
Cage Fight - Exuvia
April 19, 2026
First off, I have to take my hat off to the singer/screamer/squealer/grunter Rachel Aspe. With her extreme diversity in her voice she is able to make the sounds that are as apt as possible at the moments that are asking for them. Outstanding achievement, if you ask me. But let’s not forget the musicians she is fronting, as they all are bloody good in their own way.
review
Deathraw - Reduced to Ashes
April 19, 2026
When I start listening to what DEATHRAW is giving me on “Reduced to Ashes” it is very obvious that they chosen to stick to Bay Area Thrash Metal musically.
review
Overtoun - Death Drive Anthropology
April 19, 2026
OVERTOUN is a Chilean Progressive Death/Thrash Metal band from Santiago that has been operating since 2014. What I’m about to review is their third studio album to date “Death Drive Anthropology”. It houses over 52 minutes of very intense and intricate music that has all kinds of facets, but also more than one layer of musicianship to unravel.
review
Shields - Death & Connection
April 19, 2026
SHIELDS hail from the UK and were originally founded in 2012. They released an EP (“Guilt”) , followed by a very successful debut album in 2018, “Life In Exile”. But when guitarist George Christie suddenly passed away in the same year, it signalled the end of the band. Now, another eight years down the line, the band has surprisingly made their reappearance with “Death & Connection”.
review
The Hirsch Effekt - Der Brauch
April 19, 2026
I have to say that with every listen of the songs of THE HIRSCH EFFEKT have grown on me, that with every spin of “Der Brauch” I have let them enter a little bit further than the time before. And even if I will never be able to fully comprehend “Der Brauch”, this is a good album from start to finish.
review
Hellstedt - All Right As Rain
April 14, 2026
HELLSTEDT released a debut album in 2024, named “For No One In Particular”. They easily could have used that title for this one, and added part 2, as the variety on “All Right As Rain” is wider than the Grand Canyon.
review
Lomor - Sabouk Rouge
April 14, 2026
I can’t escape the feelings that this album brings to me. I feel elated, happy, tapping my foot, nodding my head and happily anticipating what is about to come next.
review
Survivalist - A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone
April 14, 2026
As I had never heard of SURVIVALIST before now, I was able to go in with a clear conscience, a blank mind and expecting ears. What I got with “A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone” is a whole bunch of noises that sound good.
review
Toxikull – Turbulence
April 10, 2026
I can’t fault any song on “Turbulence”, and for over 39 minutes I am transported into a world where I am floating between a fantasy world and the real one. TOXIKULL make the transitions between the two feel seamless, the effort painless. Even if they do a power ballad, “Dying Star”, they have the ability to keep the power intact and build on it. They’re touring soon, so be sure to be there. TOXIKULL needs to be as massive as can be.
review
Struck/Down - Queue For The Cure
April 10, 2026
I’m not going to tell you that STRUCK/DOWN has brought us a life-changing or earthshattering record with “Queue For The Cure”, but it is one that is very enjoyable, pleasant and easy to listen to. Having a good sound to accompany it all does help in this instance, so that earns the band some bonus points.
review
Persecutor - Casualties of Violence
April 10, 2026
PERSECUTOR had me roped in easily from second 37 of “Born in Blood”, as the EXODUS riff that really starts off the song is beautiful. And that is exactly where you need to look for the Thrash Metal of PERSECUTOR; the Bay Area.
review
Aabode - Hyper-Death
April 7, 2026
I’ve got AABODE blasting to my speakers, and I have to tell you that even after many a listen I can’t make head nor tails of what these two individuals are trying to convey, or which messages they are trying to send.
review
Lynx - Trinity Of Suns
April 7, 2026
LYNX is a quite comfortable band to listen to, with good musicians that know their stuff, and with Amy Zine they have a singer in their midst that might not be top of the bill, but does her job in a more than satisfactory manner. “Trinity Of Suns” is a decent, solid and very reliable album musically as well as vocally.
review
Unchurch - Unchurch
April 7, 2026
UNCHURCH is going for fast, furious and as brutal as they can. That doesn’t mean all is done at top speed. Nope, they operate just a tad underneath that. What they do try is cram as many notes as they can into every second they are playing, making the space to let the music breathe to be just about non-existent. This is a full-on barrage of a wall of noise that is trying to fall down on top of you and crush you in the process.
review
Visions of Terror - The Dark Triad
April 7, 2026
What I hear VISIONS OF TERROR play on “The Dark Triad” is a very nice combination of Melodeath and Modern Metal, with outbursts of Heavy Metal and Grindcore to boot. All of that is packed in short, direct and very intense songs that will have you at the edge of your seat. The advantage of such short songs is that they don’t get the chance to bore you, that you won’t find a note on their that isn’t needed.
review
Atreyu – The End Is Not The End
March 29, 2026
On 24 April 2026 it will be time for ATREYU to give us new music with “The End Is Not The End” and this American Metalcore band is a lot more than just that right now. The Melodic parts have definitely been embedded more into their music than they had before. Now there is a shifted balance between the really Heavy parts, the pure Metalcore music and the more Melodic influences.
review
Bloodred - Colours Of Pain
March 29, 2026
You know what strikes me more than anything else? That is that the quality of the songs on "Colours Of Pasin" is outstanding from start to finish. There are no weak spots, there are no lapses in making your ears tingle, making your hairs stand on end and BLOODRED just keeps sending shivers down my spine.
review
Gus G. - Steel Burner
March 29, 2026
For those who have never heard of GUS G., my question is; under which rock have you been hiding? Even if you don’t his original band FIREWIND, with whom he released the total of 11 albums, you should at least beware that he has been the main guitarist for OZZY OSBOURNE for a number of years, resulting in him writing for the 2010 “Scream” album.
review
Wolfshead – II - Ravings From the Gutter
March 29, 2026
I just can’t find fault what the band is bringing on “II - Ravings From the Gutter”. It might not all be perfect, but it all sounds sincere, exudes the right kind of attitude. There isn’t a dull moment to be heard, so your ears will sharpen their hearing quite a few times, and your brains will try to accept and extort the information at its worth.
review
Aeon Gods - Reborn To Light
March 27, 2026
AEON GODS plays their Symphonic Power Metal rather fast, giving the drummer enough space to demonstrate his double bass techniques. The guitars that accompany that sound are very well versed in making the whole sound heavy without losing the very Melodic touch. On top of that there are the vocals, that sound very pleasant, that are exactly right for this kind of music.
review
Induction - Love Kills!
March 27, 2026
Musically these guys certainly have their ducks in a row. Everything they make fits, sounds about right and has all the hallmarks and qualities that you would expect of a band that makes Melodic Symphonic Power Metal. It has speed, power, and is very easy for the ears and brains.
